Love this jacket, and really wish it fit me. Real McCoy's take on the green wool lined Hercules jacket. This is "old" real McCoy's, made in New Zealand. Really beautiful work on this jacket. Tagged size 40 but measurements seem closer to a 36(!). Never seen one of these before.

The Lost Worlds Buffalo Suburban arrived. As expected it’s a very cool jacket the buffalo leather is pretty wild. Grainy as can be but feels thick and strong. Weird sleeve openings .. not sure why he puts the zippers there but leaves the opening so large?

That is odd, seems like it should lose 2-3 inches. With a full gusset they must be bell bottom cuffs. Great leather!

What was price on this? I have a similar one reported to be late 1930’s per previous owner who bought it 50 yrs. Earlier from original owner.

Very odd. Sleeves like this are trademark of low-quality generic "biker" jackets, usually made in Pakistan. Most where they've bothered installing a zipper had had sleeves done like this, with the zipper being strictly decorative.
Also, looking at the leather, these jackets would often be made from the suspiciously similar looking leather, which was water buffalo.

Wouldn't it be then that LW labeled the hide correctly? Water buffalo is buffalo. Bison is not buffalo.

Super wide sleeves indeed. Lovely collar though. Also, is that a Tudor Pelagos?

@Monitor - purchased on ebay.. could be water buffalo?? i don't know, but the leather feels good. I've had a few LW suburban's in my time and this is the second with wide sleeves..
