Wow, this hide reminds me of the most beautiful 1950s American jackets I've handled.

It’s funny because conventional wisdom has it that Rivetts/Highwayman had poor leather quality. I wonder if it’s more a case of inconsistent quality? I’ve been eyeing various British 70s Lewis-a-likes lately (Interstate, Kett, Dobbs, Wolf, TT), and it’s striking how differently the hide is aging on different examples of the same jacket.
