Not a deal I don’t think. Not even RRL but I love the evolution, character if it’s authentic. If it’s not real It’s a good fake but to me that may it worse. EDF1A9B7-5A48-4DBF-9222-FE8CCA17E36B.jpeg

Thedi - different game..
Lol. Yeah if by different you mean different price. Elastic is elastic. I don’t think it matters who put it there.
I had a cool, navy blue CPD jacket with elastic at the waist.

This was a great jacket but I always felt like Paul Blart in it. I’m not saying I’m for elastic like this, generally I am not, because it tends to do what knits do and balloon the torso.

I’m just not sure I’m against it. But certainly I wouldn’t say it sucks except on a Thedi. If it sucks, it sucks, no matter who made a jacket with it, Thedi or otherwise. The notion that a design feature is universally bad except when a maker charging laughable sums for a jacket does it is precisely what’s wrong with this place.

I don't hate them. The half-belt is a classic style, but I do have an Aero half-belt with nearly useless buckles that undo themselves like it's their job. Function over form is something I'd welcome in this case.
Oh I love elastics on a Halfbelt. That’s different and I actually prefer it to the buckled belt. The waist/hem level elastics I’m just not sure about.

Would this actually be a desirable jacket it it weren't a fake or faux aged ?
Would somebody actually pay $300+ for a used Chinese made jacket ?
Fashion. I scroll through my feed on Grailed and it mostly fashion leather. The prices are unbelievable

The benchmark LOST WORLDS rendering of the highly regarded J23 BUCO Horsehide Motorcycle Jacket from the old Joseph Buegeleisen Co. of Detroit. A remarkable, stunningly beautiful D-pocket Black Horsehide Motorcycle Jacket from the 1950s. Originals often command excessive sums on the vintage market.

Our J23 is made of the best Horsehide in the world, and not by a little, from our own US tannery (3.0 - 4.0+ Oz. customer preference). Inimitable LOST WORLDS authenticity, quality and workmanship. A lifetime purchase: Correct horsehide jackets routinely outlive their owners and are passed down as heirlooms. (Yes, there's as much difference between different makers' horsehide as between cars, people, galaxies!) There are some who think mere hype separates a $1950.00 jacket from cheaper jackets. Are a Carrera and Sienna (!) separated merely by hype (or testosterone)? Yet, we do believe that for some, many even, a cheaper, thinner, softer jacket might serve their needs better than ours. (Not to mention thinner, softer fashion replicas much more expensive than $1950.00 -- seriously!) Not everyone needs something like our dreadnought Buco J23. These are for a special kind of rider. The knowledgeable know from experience the extraordinary protection a LOST WORLDS Horsehide jacket can afford in potentially serious road mishaps. Our jackets are equipment, pure and simple, not fashion. If your bike sports safety and speed modifications yet you consider a jacket just a weather or fashion accessory, speak to real riders. They know.

Unlike weaker hides, genuine Lost Worlds Chrome-Tanned Horsehide never loses strength as it softens and molds to its owner. (Oh, yeah, originals were Vegetable-Tanned -- hilarious!) Ours doesn't whiten, bleed, mottle, "pull-up" if you look at it the wrong way or rub against a door frame. That's social media leather. The beauty and comfort of our hides increase with use and age without losing durability, incredible water repellency and protection -- why old manufacturers and riders always preferred Horsehide. (Yet even among originals variations in horsehide quality exist, the difference being that back then there were, generally, excellent and good hides, less crap. Today the field is MUCH narrower and, unsurprisingly, more duplicitous, i.e., cowhide being passed off to unwary as horsehide.) Incidentally, no original had tougher, heavier, more beautiful natural grain Horsehides than ours.
