Sorry if this is not really a find per se or a deal. I just think its interesting. This a Rancher Style jacket with Sherpa lining. The reason I am posting is the very very honest, humble and no nonsense Tagline this store used on its label. They didn't make this jacket. Its just a store label. But Its like the George Costanza of Western Wear stores!!! "...Not showin' off.....Not fallin' behind." :D

I love how unlike most modern businesses and brands, they aren't trying to brag or huff and puff about their business. They're simply content to state frankly that they are one of the better known stores in the West. Not the oldest....Not the First....Not the greatest..... Not the most famous...... just "One of the West's BETTER KNOWN stores". I love this. Sounds so very true to the character of a no nonsense Western clothier. Kinda reminds me of the temperament of the Nevada Cowboy types as depicted by the old guy in the movie Casino. Not flashy. Not showy---but nonetheless quietly proud. This store has some history too. I found this brief write up on Flickr where a photog posted a cool neon pic from the joint. Note the write up says it started in 1920 while the label says 1919. Closed in 1999.

Parker’s Western Wear

Reno, Nevada

One of Reno’s legendary western clothing stores, Parker’s Western Wear, first opened in the early 1920s on Center Street. George Parker started the business and was later joined by his younger brother Harry Parker, after he completed his service in World War II. In 1971, the brothers moved the business to the Barengo Building on Sierra Street, where it remained until it closed in 1999. For decades, Parker’s catered to working cowboys, politicians, dude ranch visitors, Hollywood stars, and anyone else in need of a good Stetson hat, cowboy boots and a pair of Levi’s. Levi’s 501 jeans started at $3.00 a pair, or were discounted to $2.50 if you brought in that little red pocket tab! John Wayne shopped at Parker’s while he was filming The Shootist in the mid-1970s, as well as actors who were in Reno to film The Misfits in 1960. Locals will remember the creaking hardwood floors, THE SMELL OF LEATHER AND WOOL:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:, and always a friendly greeting extended to anyone who walked through the door.'

This jacket has the details of an Aeromarine, but I could not be sure if this is a real one or not.
Cowhide is not what I would choose anyway. This seller has a lot of leather items, even LW, and nothing looks really wrong. But last years there has been a lot more of Aero jackets on the Bay. Like everyone has one for sale.

hey i was just looking at this seller's items as i am searching for an RRL lot 271. i almost bought it during the initial bidding but decided to hold and be careful. would you be able to tell if this is fake/authentic? i know its not leather but you guys might be able to help/save me:
