This one always got positive comments. I just think these were late 50s early 60s. The label is often lost since it was just glued on.

This one looks stellar!! Not to be a VINTAGE SNOB but it seems that the older stuff is almost always better quality than the newer stuff across all makers. Even the later Hercules jackets can't hold a candle to the earlier ones. Now that may have something to do with the fact that Sears contracted out all of their jackets so there were different makers over the years. Excelled is itself a maker. But similar to Fidelity, (both companies I believe still survive today), the older Excelled jackets seem to be a cut above the more modern offerings.

Yes I suspect so. It was in Viroqua, Wisconsin which is a rather small rural town on Rt 14. I have driven through there several times, and it might be a good place to find something like this in an antique shop, even. The graining on that leather was amazing. It looks to have had the original fur collar too which probably makes it rarer.
