JMax,
JMax,
It's hard to stay "retired" from jacket buying when you keep posting these up...Thanks ...really
steve
I don't know what it is, but the seller says it weighs about twelve pounds. It's about to snap that plastic hanger it's on, and I think the jacket's hanging weird on it. I'd like to see it lying flat. Normally I'd worry about long-term shoulder warping on a jacket on a hanger like this, but I suspect this jacket is lined in lead and could stop an arrow, so now I'm just worried there might be a puppy or kitten or small child standing under it when the hanger breaks. This is a find, not a deal but... I can't even tell what's going on here. It's ridiculous, yet I don't hate it. Is that Langlitz? Cal??

Spiegel. Started off as mail catalogues but I believe in the 40s & 50s was a department store chain. Not as big as Sears or Penney’s but same general idea. I’ve seen some really nice jackets with different Spiegel labels. I bet @tmitchell59 and/or the other TFL historians can provide more input.
Big a$$ pit
I was going to bite on this one but seller turned down $125. Also, wouldn't give actual chest or shoulder measurements. "Im not a seamstress" was the reply. Kind of turned me off from gambling $150 when I really need a 42. Unless these run small

Well, it's sold now. They gave me the chest and shoulder measurements for the Spiegal jacket, so it's odd that they wouldn't provide that for the Schott. In any case, they might not be a seamstress, but they don't appear to be a particularly savvy seller either. They listed a made in China Harley jacket for $300, while pricing a 1940's cross zip at $100 and a perfecto at $125.
