Well, all I know is what's in the listing, so take it with a grain of salt, I guess.

I wasn't shooting the messenger. Sadly good advice on ebay sellers though. Don't get me wrong some good sellers are out there and not all are intentionally misleading but some of the wild tales they sell or believe can be almost comical.

That Fox Creek jacket and liner I ordered showed up today and it's like brand new!
The previous owner wasn't kidding when he said it was too hot wear in Arizona and then he stopped riding so it's up for sale.
This is just an astonishing jacket, the leather is a bit thinner than Vanson's competition grade but not by much and it's really supple. I think I have a new favorite.

Okay, I'm quitting after this one. I can't wear any of these and I'm gettin' dejected.

What was your opinion of the one you had?
I really liked it, but didn't wear it enough to justify keeping it, and the positioning of the pockets on the Type F always leaves me second guessing the styling, but it felt great on me when I wore it. To me, it feels like a 70s style. Maybe it is. But it also was starting to wear through at the edge of the cuffs, which wasn't really a big deal, but it was enough for me to move it on. I'd be tempted to buy that one. The brown comp weight from that era ages so well.

I had one of these, since moved on, and I think it was around 6.5 lbs. Seller's listing claims 8lb on this one, though, and it wouldn't surprise me if it is.
6.x lbs I'd believe all day and would take it as the gospel from you but a skeptic of 8 from the bay. Either way its still a cool Vanson.

I don't disagree, and I'm not vouching for the listed weight, but FWIW, when I'm listing I do like to include the weights when I can, and unlike showing measurements in the photos, there's just not a good way to show proof of the weight. The good thing is that when the weight is listed (like any other detail), it better be accurate or the buyer can make a claim. That being said, sellers aren't always honest/correct, and it's a disappointment and a pain to have to return an item, so I share your healthy skepticism.

I couldn't agree more on listing the weight. It saves me a message to them about it everytime. If they used a scale they could shoot a picture of that. Although I'm sure lots of us have weighed a jacket the old fashioned way of stepping on a scale with and without it on.

Thanks. Nice to know it felt so good on you. My favorite part of this jacket is the back construction—the way it looks anyway—but for some reason I thought that even with the action, it might feel a little restricted.

Yeah, that's how I do it. And I can't put a photo of that in the listing because then I couldn't keep lying about my weight. But one day I'll have a jacket scale, and I won't let anyone use it but me.

Other than a small difference in the sleeve construction in the underarm area, this looks like the jacket in a listing I linked a few days ago...

Labels don't match but I wonder if they're from the same company at different points in time. Alternatively, could this be made by multiple makers, and does the style have a name? It's an awesome looking jacket, one I hadn't seen before Tuesday, and now I've seen two within a few days of one another.
