Damnit, that's too cool!!! These vtg Italian shearling jackets occasionally pop up here and there and every one that I've seen was really nice. Quality is great, too.

That’s interesting to learn, did you own any of them?
This one pit to pit is 25.5 yet it’s still marked as Medium, that’s way too wide for me.

This jacket would be a good deal if you could snag it for $700 or less.
Not all 3 Thedi's jackets mentioned above must be made of leather, one of them might possibly be made of canvas for instance. Anyway, almost sure you've got the main idea well Eric)
I mean, I very like Thedi's jackets (most of them look absolutely gorgeous!), but for 1800$ seems it'd be better to deal with Thedi directly, to get at least 2 absolutely new leather jackets from him.
Eric, I suppose that seller which you've linked above knows this idea well too)

Fonzie sorry I'm not a "pit to pit" kinda guy , I would probably make a pigs arse of it in any case !

The jackets are 100% stock Vanson models as in the Vanson website. Measurements in inches will be there for sure.

As you will know there is NO WAY you could buy a new Vanson in the USA at current exchange rates , ship it to Australia , pay the now mandatory 10% GST. You would be close to TWICE the price of these newies in Qld !

Nice deal! How short on the back is the Comet model? Do you know the back length in yours? Cheers.
About 24” in my size 44”. Probably proportionally shorter or longer across the size range. I believe Vanson’s site description sums it up best:

Excellente Ton312 friend. Most appreciated indeed.

My Vanson Comet is in 44" and my Sturgis is in Vanson "large". They both fit like my Schott jackets in 44"

Can't weigh on in pricing since I am not well versed in vintage Vanson, but the color and condition of this jacket for its age is amazing. If off the rack size 40 typically works for you, this would be a really cool vintage jacket. I am tempted to see what the measurements are, but just from looking it doesn't seem the sleeves would be long enough for me.
