Very cool looking Langlitz. Those burnished edges really make it pop.
But the custom balloon gussets look like it was made for someone who might be thinking of being pregnant, might be pregnant or is pregnant.

Okay, for those of us that spend all of our time here thirsting for more knowledge, how do we know when something like this beautiful brown leather is horsehide if there’s no label attesting? (Gussets here are quite weird for this one BTW…) I’m getting the feeling that there’s no sure way, am I wrong (short of DNA)?

I'm not an expert by any means but didn't they use green labels on their horsehide jackets?

Many more knowledgeable people here than me can answer this. I’m just an old guy with a bunch of leathers.
It’s very subjective but i know when i feel it. Some horse is very obvious some not at all. Or maybe i’m just dreaming.

Exactly. Sometimes hh has a nice firm hand, and I can tell it is horse. But sometimes it is soft and almost drapey. Tough to tell. I stopped getting hung up on horse. Vintage steer can be great too.

Agree, in fact I actually prefer a naked cowhide as horse has worn through for me…
