Well, my son had a nightmare last night around 0300 and woke me. I ended up on eBay while he fell back asleep and saw this again. 10 minutes left in the auction. Put in a bid for $100 fully expecting the price to shoot right by me... and got it for $92 (plus $24 in shipping). Hope it fits. Gonna be close. @Bennarion strikes again.
I do believe that’s a late model Taubers. I had one exactly like it but lined in a blue wool. They are the only makers I’ve seen put that snap closure “belt” at the hem. I’m thinking somebody swapped out the original liner. That’s an absolute steal.

The configuration of the back panels reminded me of some of the cross-zip Taubers I have seen online but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the insight on the little tab at the hem. I hope you are right.

I'm really digging this vintage Sears Hercules horsehide jacket...but rather expensive for a 70-80 year old jacket...overall condition seems to be good:

Seller knows what they got. This is the earliest, rarest and the best version they've ever made. I've seen maybe two of these altogether. 99.99% of all the Sears motorcycle jackets the later models. This is very rare. Much more so than any Buco. It's stunning. And the condition of the jacket is unbelievable too. It practically is as new. All things considered, it's a fair price.

@tmitchell59 probably will probably tell you a lot more about it but if I know anything about old leather jackets, this one qualifies as the centerpiece of any collection. Check out how it doesn't have the piping around the D-pocket zipper, just like Buco.

Well, that's interesting because isn't the jacket below pretty much the same model? I believe someone spotted it and posted it in earlier in this thread. Sold yesterday for $399, just one bid. So maybe not so rare after all.

Sweet Jesus. That's so many levels above the usual Sears D-pocket, the later decades don't really compare at all to what this is. That FQHH is amazing.

Okay, that makes it four I've seen so far. :D Still, someone got a fantastic deal on this. This one isn't in such a good condition, it's been worn a lot, it's missing the belt, center zip has been replaced... But still, this is a true gem of a jacket if there ever was one.

Damn, the most recent posts of those Sears jackets made me miss my own cross-zips. Been to hot to wear them this summer and will remain so for months. Just pulled one out and am wearing it inside at my desk, LOL.
