In the description he says he paid $1500 for this jacket? It has no lining and hence no label. I'm missing something here? Has signs of a California Sportswear jacket from the early 50s, which are great jackets, but don't sell for $1500. I never paid what his opening bid is for much better condition jackets. I know there are many who dream of $; is this a dream too? Is this a rare jacket I'm not familiar with? I'm always learning.

I see CSC too. I figure it will come down in price eventually. If he did pay $1500, only way I see that is via a huge mark-up at some designer store (Fred Segal?). Or is Fred just some dude that fleeced this guy?

West Coast Police jackets the bottom jacket is a Seattle Woolen I had out showing this afternoon. This style changed little from it's beginnings. Most are short and tight at the waist, for the young. Continues to be a popular style

In a small force you had a private purchase jacket that made specs, which may have been simple color black. Very few retired police jackets are brown. I've seen many off the rack Sears jackets with service patches removed, and always black.
The Ralphs-Pugh jacket in brown Horsehide is quite unusual for a badge holder jacket.

The Straight zip Police jackets typically have two button cuffs, big collars, two front slash pockets often zipped, belt loops (often removed in retirement) (I've done it!) have horsehide, cowhide, goatskin police jackets; from light to heavy weights, for all seasons.

I had a jacket visitor today, got me going.

Fred Segal was an agent who was famous for providing the Hollywood stars and music celebrities with cool and trendy outfits. I have been to the shop many times. Never bought anything. His stuff was expensive for me who worked for a living. However, he had style. He passed away last year.

Looks like Fred Segal is an exclusive LA boutique store. Locations in Malibu, among others. $1500 is surprisingly cheap for this outfit...;)
Either:

a.) He purchased the jacket at a hipster foo-foo high end vintage retailer like Ralph Lauren Vintage or Segal's

OR

b.) The price is reflective of the jacket itself PLUS the Seller's obviously VERY professional modeling

Models of this quality with this kind of talent and look don't work for free!!!!

For every steal deal----there are a handful of Wishful Sellers with pie in the sky prices whose jackets sit for ages. I recently offered $425 on a jacket listed for $650 and the Seller's response was, "EXCUSE ME!!!???? THE ASKING PRICE IS $650!!!!" and I'm like, "Uhhhhhh Yeah bro. Key word is "ASKING". I don't care what the ASKING PRICE is, I know what its worth. I am OFFERING you $425." So yeah---I did not get this piece. Lol..... Some people seem to get their jollies imagining what they are gonna get instead of actually SELLING. There is being patient in waiting for the right buyer---and there is just dreaming.
