Many Cals were custom-made. Sometimes companies wrongly label their garments. However, there are no labels on the jacket, correct? So the 46 is just an estimate from the seller? It could also be the seller is not taking the measurements correctly.
Exactly, ask for tape pics if interested.

That’s what I was thinking, but since I am new to this. Was figuring I would wait and see what others said.
ask him to check in the inside pocket. Many of them have the size written in pencil on the white canvas material. That'll give you a bench mark, but in any case, you want the photos of measurements anyway. PTP is deceiving on these jackets. Have them take a measurement a couple inches down too. I'd say generally speaking Cals run small. you probably have to go up at least 1 size from your "normal" true to size measurement. But like many here, I've gone through like 10+ still trying to find the perfect one that fits well in chest, waist, hips, and length.

I bought it (price is reasonable if it doesn’t fit) because of the sleeve length hoping that’s pretty hard to do poorly but I am now wondering about where he measured for length and I’m guessing he may have gone from top of collar. We shall see…….

THIS ^^^^^^^^ is a critical query of mine ...........perhaps the MOST critical.

The variations of how Sellers measure length are baffling to me. Sellers are often ignorant about front drops and NOT including the collar in the measurement. This whole "From the top of the collar down to the bottom" is like measuring a man's height from the top of his TOP HAT!!!! OMIT THE COLLAR for the measurement PLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Not any more!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding-----its a SMALL jacket for sure........ it LOOKs small too.......Prolly the padded shoulders made the proportions look more drastic than they are. .Someone could REALLY score here (tho---NOT on a Langlitz). If you are at the bigger end of the size spectrum or the smaller end, you generally can score better deals than we SCHMUCKS stuck in the middle.......... the rub is that the bigger guys have less opportunities...... The Smaller dudes have the world by the balls!!!! They get the wide selection of Vintage and Japanese repros in their size AND can score deals. The only thing BADDER than the Cal 6 Panel-----is the PADDED CAL 6 PANEL............

The seller is relisting the jacket. There were only two bids from two different bidders. I know the person who was the second highest. "Someone" tried to start a bidding war, but it was unsuccessful. Or someone sniped it at the last second to avoid selling to the one legit bidder. Either way. The seller is questionable and was reported to eBay. Here is the acution in question: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165643505067

Furthermore, did you see the additional fees with the sale? "No bueno".
