Does anybody recognize exactly this jacket? I know it´s a 1948 Indian Ranger. Wasn´t it part of a big auction few years ago? Mecum or so?

Usually see them with lightning zip pulls of a different style. They must’ve used a different puller on the cross zips. They make a good jacket. Not terribly well made but tailored well!

Was their specialty doing strongly American-style designs? @Marc mndt has a lovely British Perfecto-style jacket, whose make eludes me.

They're interesting to compare to something like the Lewis Bronx, which is sort of a re-interpretation of the American motorcycling jacket, in a British style.

Primarily known for there CR’s. If memory serves Himel offers a reinterpretation of their design. It’s in the all time top 3 best CR patterns for me personally. I had just about every color of the rainbow in these. For a time, this was the only jacket maker I seriously collected. Then, around 2009 or so, they became popular and laughably expensive. Seems that tide has turned again and they can be had for a reasonable price.

There seems to be a sweet spot for these vintage beauties between 38” to 42” chest. Given I haven’t been looking that long so take that with a grain of salt but you don’t see many with a 24” pit to pit.

I would love a good condition vintage old cafe racer jacket. I would wear it and if it was a classic I would sent it off to Greg to make a pattern after it for a new version to have also.

My buddy Dario from Rome just grabbed the Waddington Pirate. He's a huge collector of vintage English jackets and has his own Facebook group:

This is him wearing my 70s LL racing jacket. It looks a lot better on him than it did on me:

Somehow all these jackets look better when they are being used in their intended environment. You just need more shots on your Vespa (or was it a Lambretta)!
