My friend and bison expert Cecil just got in 60 bison robes from the Moyle Tannery in Idaho, which does exquisite work. Colors vary; most young bulls have some gold in the mane, washed blond after that and then brown and black. Bison cows tend to be more uniform in color ... from rich chocolate to a brown/grey. Bison cows have a more uniform hair length ... and more hair on the back half.

If you are interested, Cecil can be reached at 915-247-6601. Prices range from $1675-$2000. Makes a great comforter or couch throw. He is a retired attorney and one of the most proactive guys in the US trying to bring the bison back in this country. The future looks bright in terms of more US-produced bison leather.

Sorry for the long post.

A member reached out to me to ask about my LVC jacket. There is one from Japan listed on Ebay for a ridiculous $1800. I told him that these Japanese listings on Ebay usually have duplicate listings on the Japanese sites like Buyee for sometime 1/4 of the price. So I'm trying to find it for him...anyway I typed in the search word "vintage jacket" into Buyee. Not a lot of deals, but many finds.

What the hell guys I’ve been back on like what a week?! And I already gave in. It’s mine.
...same jacket in HH?

...an interesting old Grais worn by an MC member in the 50's. Would be fascinating to know the popularity of such jackets in the MC community back then relative to other makes.

I would never get my wife out from under that from mid October to mid May. A worthy and wise investment.

Thanks, I just bought that, so cool. This are the little things that mean so much. I will now have to buy a Grais jacket. Forgot, my first leather jacket, bought new in 1968, was a Grais. It did not have this charm attached.
How about this?

How about this?

My nylon Oakbrook came with this little acorn pull. I liked it enough where I now have a few in my eBay watch list. In case I ever need it or just decide I want more.

When I was a young lad some 48 years ago, decided to wear the family's buffalo hide coat brought to the US from Canada by my great-grandfather in the 1880's to visit my then 90 year-old great aunt in a neighboring state. Her parents had also homesteaded in Minnesota in the late 1800's. She was fascinated to see it saying that she recalled buffalo hide lap robes as a child but had never seen a coat. Wished after my mother passed that coat had remained in the family. Sewn together with sinew.
