Nice. I was looking to get into the action on that one as well but I valued it much lower than everyone else apparently. Lol...... my cheapskate gene was kicking in I guess......

I've got one now and I have had 2 others that were too small back when I first started buying jackets. I originally bought a 42 Black CR. Awesome jacket. But it was too small for my liking so I sold it. I then picked up another 42 at a local consignment store that seemed to fit better but really, it was only because it didn't have a liner. I was too stupid to realize the difference in fit from the zip in liner. Those liners are lame and barely utilitarian anyway IMO.

A few years later, I snagged a size 44 brown CR with the liner. It fits pretty good but I always am on the lookout for a 46 and I want to get another black one. The brown is cool and versatile. But Black is B L A C K and I just love the look of these in black.

That one you got is extra interesting because of the Shirt Collar. It has the 2 way zipper----I really like the 2 way but maybe it's just me. Missing the liner which is no loss at all in my book. Hopefully, you can get that zipper imprint off the front lower left side and there are not others on this jacket. I have bought from that Seller a couple of times and most of his stuff is pretty clean. Not like some of the bale finds that are wrinkled like raisins. I think it'll clean up really well.

I am interested to see how you like this one. I expected it to go in the $150-$175 range but it looks like it had a lot of interest. Cool get. Congrats. Please post your follow up report if you can. These are oddly underrated jackets for having such a high coolness factor.;)

I think your price range is spot on, but the larger size and collar attracted a bit more folks. The 2-way zip also did it for me. Will keep you posted.

That Cals very cool looking, if it was my size I’d be interested - price not a steal but really not bad for a jacket already on this side of the Atlantic... has (older?) label present and looks like the main zip might be a crown/Coates and Clark looking at the teeth shape/zip box stamping (C & C? - tho’ not so clear)? But with a mismatched talon zip slider fitted? LH Pocket zip pull also non-original. Service belt got some interesting patina too! Plenty of scuffs on jacket back but if leather decent and supple still/can be conditioned could be a nice jacket indeed,,,

that's a nice looking one. Nice shade of brown too. Kind of reminds me of the last one I bought (mine was black teacore), but this one looks in better shape overall on the shell. I had a lot of problems with my stitches though as they pretty much rotted after 60 or 70 years of whatever was going on with the previous owner. Cal did a lot of restitching for me around the sleeve/armpit connection point and along the wrists and reinforcing wrist zippers.

Price isn't too bad. If it's completely clean. I paid $380 for mine and at least another $100 went to Cal to patch things up.

What does it for me is the vertical pocket. I know, I know, I'm crazy, but that alone makes this more desirable to me. That it has the OG label is a bonus. And this in spite of the zip replacements, another not totally uncommon thing with the older Cals. Like the roughout Cal, I've just never seen a Cal like this, with its cool pocket config. But it will probably need some stitch work/seam reinforcement (many of my Cals have) and I seriously need to let my jacket procurement cycle chill. I guess I could offer less but this seller definitely understands what he has. I communicated with him. So how much less? Nah, I hope Carlos buys it and puts me out of my misery.

How was communication with the seller?
It's crazy doorman, who spent weeks calling me daily to threaten me after i returned a jacket that wasn't as described.
I actually had to file a complaint to the police for him to stop.
I don't think i have it in me to ever buy something from him again... But i agree that jacket looks awesome, if it was another seller i would BIN.

I personally have had good experience with this seller but they're shipping thru UPS which hits that scam of a Pitney Bowes equivalent here so I can't buy anything from 'em anymore. They've just refunded me without any issues for the jacket I bought and couldn't have delivered so I think it's safe to do business with the doorman as long as you don't piss him off. By that I mean complain.

I've seen what Carlos had to go thru on the other hand and that's some seriously scary, psycho stuff.

this looks real nice. Not sure it'll get bid up much. It's the z150 model.

Vanson Royale (Enfield) Leather Jacket Size 40 MSRP $749 | eBay

s-l1600.jpg

After all that Vanson talk yesterday, I gave my 2000 older one a good wash yesterday and it really transformed. I always thought it was kind of flat. While there were glimmers of excellence here and there on certain creases and grooves, was kind of eh overall. Especially when compared to my older C2. But there must have been a lot of grime or maybe it just needed a drink. It's standing upright and hitting me back with some attitude now. Sleeves perfectly curved and creased after one wear while it was slightly damp. Think I'm taking it off my sell list.

Wow. I remember that ordeal. Same dude huh. No jacket is worth that level of aggravation. That just made my decision easier.

It is a special jacket though. I’ll keep a picture and periodically drool over it.

Comms were normal. Polite and answered my questions. Obviously something else lies right beneath the surface.

THIS is something only we zipper nerds would seize on---but HOW in the hell are they using a #10 Talon pull on what appears to be a Crown/C&C track!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? We MUST be misidentifying this track right!?!!?!?!? I always understood it was impossible to mix pulls with other brands tracks---especially a Crown. They were so different from other tracks...... I know that --sadly---you can't just slap a Vintage Talon Pull on a YKK track. Would be so easy to fix vintage jackets if that were the case. The main zipper replacement is the Grandmommy of all general maintenance repairs second only to the Granddaddy--the Full Jacket Re-line. Many a fix could be accomplished if it were possible to effectively mix and match pulls. Especially a YKK with a Talon pull.

CALLING ALL ZIPPER NERDS/SNOBS---please give this Cal a look and decipher what you see as to the main zip combo. What is going on there???? Maybe it's just a Talon all the way around but I agree with Yellow, it appears to be a Crown track with a Talon pull. Is my zipper nerd world about to change forever today????????????:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Damn that's clean!!! Looks to be a custom size for a bigger dude. Dare I say this out loud---- Don't sleep on these Canadian jackets......... they seem to be perhaps the last frontier of true vintage coolness....... I have seen a number of very cool Canadian jackets over the last year or so (bought a couple too:confused::confused:) and though the brands are foreign to most of us, there is some awesome Canadian vintage leather out there. I dig the Lightning (Talon) zippers. Talon design on the parts that matter and a cool oval Lightning pull instead of the familiar rectangular Talon down in the U.S. That whole Talon/Lightning story is interesting.

Anyway, white isn't my thing in general but I'd be very very very...like VERRRRY tempted if this were my size.o_O
