Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

And I saw the poking and prodding directed at him that went on for a very long time. No lines apparently were crossed then, but more recently he, and only he, crossed THE line?

While I would agree, there's a difference between poking and directly insulting someone. Members who had an issue with G called him out 'cause of the photo spamming, etc. which wasn't very nice, something I mentioned earlier on and I honestly didn't mind him posting photos of his mates and whatever, but nobody actually insulted the way he looked, what he wore or where he took his photos.

Ha, how could they insult his pictures?!? It was...drum roll please...the same picture across threads. Lol.

Yes. It is different behavior. You are right. I just wonder if over time the poking resulted in his response. At least you and I noticed it. No doubt it crossed a personal line of his. And I’ve little doubt it was the intended response from some members. I’m not excusing his response either. It wasn’t one of his finer moments. Just saying.

Back to my searching for a size 38 Cal CR that is based in Eastern Europe and being sold for $25.

I guess we don’t have to move on.

I actually did see most of what transpired between him and a few others. And I saw the poking and prodding directed at him that went on for a very long time. No lines apparently were crossed then, but more recently he, and only he, crossed THE line? Fine. We can sick Chopper on his balls. Banned? A bridge too far for me.

Plus, I get the sense that the screws aren’t close hold with details about inmates with certain other inmates. That’s a no-go.
I come here to talk about leather jackets. I don't come here to be mocked. Apparently G Man didn't like my elevator mirror selfies and that's fine. But I don't need him to make stupid remarks on it every time he joins some discussion (without having anything to add on the subject matter ).

Today he came back and the first thing he does is make stupid comments on me and my posts. I could do without those.

I did not read what transpired. I do know someone mouthing off here made unprovoked derogatory comments to our mandownunder about over posting his pictures. When Guppy went on a rant a month or two ago that same person made more very personal attacks on Guppy provoking Guppy further. The entire thread is deleted and the person that made personal attacks on Guppy is still mouthing off. Maybe this thread will get deleted and I will not have to look over my shoulder about buying a jacket posted on eBay.

Haha, it was fun. Scenery was fun, pics were positive AND I altogether stopped checking my daily Aussie weather report. Oh well, sometimes things just turn that way but I get it why mods reacted at the moment they did.

What @jonbuilder says holds true as well, but let's just keep posting jackets here. No point in derailing the thread further.

mall Windward. @tmitchell59 the lining and interior looks similar to the Sportclad. I don’t recall seeing a Windward like this.

I was about to post this Windward. I have never seen this configuration; 40s Windward label, wool lined. Very much in the look of the post war Sportclads. I would love to look at some Wards catalogs. The Sears catalogs show no MC dedicated jackets prior to 1948, Sears jacket are well documented, not so with JC Penney or Wards. I have MC styled Wards jackets, I thought were around this same time.

missed a lot of the action today. I used to be really impatient with this kind of stuff, get frustrated, feed the fire, etc. etc. Then my younger son was born and ended up being on the autism spectrum. He's thankfully very high functioning but has his quirks. Made me realize there's just different kinds of people out there that interact differently. For sure, there's some people out there that mean harm, or wish to troll, or just are A holes. But there's also just as many that socially don't fit the norm. Not sure where Gman fits in all that, but for me, he wasn't a nuisance, even though it didn't take long to tire of the same pics, weather reports LOL, etc. I think he was just in auto pilot mode and in his eyes, some way contributing. I was definitely jealous of some of those beach shots though and hope I could be as active as some of those guys in their 70s and 80s :D:D:D

can't say I read every post or followed along with some of the more hot topic ones in question, but I do trust the mods to make that call. If they feel like it or several crossed the line, then so be it. I will echo though that the treatment should be equally weighted if we're getting to that level. I don't know the details of some of the other allegations, so can't comment, but again trust those would be handled in the same way. Hoping a warning was issued to be fair, unless of course it was just something too egregious.

anyway, my .02 and last comments on it. Lets get back to the finds and deals. Picked up my latest Cal today from the Cal shop after some much needed love. Post some pics tomorrow. Wow, just wow is all I'll say.

Can't wait to see some pics of the Cal. Which one?
1940-50s cross zip, black teacore, all Talon zips beautiful. Little bit longer than the usual ones which is just awesome for me. Needed some reinforcement/restitching in key areas. I guess with the old pure cotton thread, it was starting to pop here and there after all those years. There's a couple hairline cracks and tiny bit of flakiness on one of the sleeves. Gwen's dad owns the upholstery shop next to the Cal storefront. He gave me a pointer on conditioning the jacket that I'm going to try tomorrow that I think might do the trick. Probably won't help deep cracks, but should help what I got going on. In any case, it's real vintage. Jacket was worn a lot, so comes with the territory. I'll post some pics tomorrow if the sun comes out.
