That’s a lot of tolerance in the sizing
Yeah in my opinion and from the one I owned those Natal/ Walter Dyer jackets are tagged sized one up. My 44” fit like a tight 42”.
Nice stuff though. Thick and spongy leather. The CR is less tailored looking compared to the cross zips.

Having owned numerous Natal jackets, some are spongy and others have a firmer hand.

@jonbuilder , average and realistic, yeah but they usually go for a lot more than that. I didn't like it myself, too. It's cut weird. The sleeves are gigantic and the shoulders are really narrow. Leather isn't much, either, but I think the earlier version is better. Looks better, certainly. I'm not sure if it was Schott who was making these from the start or just picked up a production for Beck later on but the earlier version is different.
Repro is much nicer in any case but it used to cost something crazy and I doubt it the prices had gone down last I checked.

Rare & Vintage Bates California Motorcycle Leather Jacket, black, sz 44 Good price
I just picked up Bates CF and very impressed with the hide and workmanship detail in general

I'm sure this would have sold already but for the missing belt loops with the ugly stitch holes. I'm not crazy about the badge holder, either. Or the center-seam back. Cross-zip moto jackets always look better with a single panel back + kidney panel.

No kidding, though I am considering an offer that accounts for the missing belt loops and a professional cleaning. What do you think is fair without being insulting?

Maybe check with Bates to see what replacing the missing belt loops would cost, and work back from there?

I don't think it's reasonable to expect a discount for the price of a cleaning. It doesn't look particularly dirty, and it is expected that the new owner would assume any routine maintenance and cleaning for clothing.

Yeah, I normally agree about the cleaning but the seller applied car leather cleaner to it.

After some consideration, I think this may be a bridge too far for me.

Lol, like armor all? I dunno, might be fine, depending on what was used. But I'd definitely pass on it.

Lol, maybe armor all, mother's, who the heck knows. He apparently picked up a "high end leather cleaner" in the automotive section. I agree with you, moving on.
