I have just searched some of my literature (beside well known Rin Tanakas Books) for fotos of Trojan Jackets… as we know these Jackets are rare birds :)

Impressive book collection. And real nice 40s Trojan back design. They all remind me the helmets the Trojans wore. Very clever, looks good and functions well.
And I got on the 5Star train too early. He's been pumping out some real nice stuff lately. The hand waxing really takes his leather up a notch.

@Marc mndt unfortunately not. I have my doubts as well. I'd imagine they weren't just making it up and that there was a label in the jacket, but you never know...a Trojan would sell for more than an SG. The ladies one is exactly like what @Canuck Panda posted from Marvins.

I'm with you, it sure looks like a SG. Here are a few more old SGs in the same vein although the last one wasn't listed as a SG.

It's interesting to see how they experimented with different ways to construct the d pocket. Some only have a stitched outline, some have the d pocket stitched onto the body like a placket. Others have piping like this one.

@jeo do you have a pic of the back of this jacket?

It looks a lot like these jackets... Which I believe to be early star gloves. Not 100% sure though.

Why didn’t you buy that SG? The new Heritage ones are expensive. I do sometimes wish SG would do a bit more with the back design. Go for it like they did with the front design.

One member here would know. He worked for Trojan and another Los Angeles leather factory. Hope he is still around and would share his Trojan knowledge with us…

That's ABC, which was purchased by Bates in 1971. He was also involved in making jacket for some big names in California. The man had an impressive track records in this industry. I also hope he sees this and chimes in.
