Got this one from the same gentlemen as Snrbfshn got is Playboy from, but this one has no moth hole or pitting. I meant to bid on it but I got the auction time wrong and thought it got away but it turns out that nobody bid on it...opening bid was 25 bucks. I made him an offer of 20.00 afterward off of ebay and he said sure! No clue on the age or model so you guys input is appreciated but it has a sweet high crown!! After cleaning and rebashing I think she'll be a real beauty. (strange looking bow don't you think?)

I'd say 1950's judging by the lining. It's interesting about the printing on the sweatband . These hats may be salesman samples as I've never seen hats with names printed like that before . :cool2:
I hope it fits . Interesting band .

Wow!

That is a very distinctive hat - I really like the bow. And all at a great price! How wide is the brim and how tall is the crown?

The brim is pushing about 2 1/4" and the crown height is just a bit under 5 1/2" the way its presently blocked. I think I might try a Raiders blocking, I think it would come out pretty close..... and suggestions?

Was that a Philly made hat, or a hat made after Stetson sold the name? Check out the tags under the sweat to see. I have noticed that hats made with the Philly tag were much better hats than what was made in St Joe,after the buyout. And to show you how the hat business used to be, much of the equipment that was moved from the Philly plant was torched, to keep it out of the hands of competition. They used what they needed, and junked the rest, after it had been destroyed. This is documented in Henderson's book. Fedora

Very nice dimensions, thanks for the information. I agree with Sharpetoys, lay a lovely C-crown on it and enjoy the uniqueness of that bow!

Now, where can I find one like it? :)

Folded Ribbon Treatment...

I have two older gray Adam Fedoras with this ribbon style... Yours is the only Stetson I've even seen with it.
Over all... very nice lid, and no moth holes !! At a great price to boot. You won't be running into anyone else with one like it...
