I will give them props for including Virginia Mayo however. She always seems to be three steps ahead of everyone else in the noir films I've seen her in.

Colleen Grey!
Kiss of Death, Kansas City Confidential, Nightmare Alley, The Killing, and one of my faves, The Sleeping City.

I couldn't come up with a picture of her (except when I close my eyes at night, of course).

The little-known, South-African-born Hazel Brooks, who played Don Ameche's mistress in Sleep, My Love. Although she made only a few films, she had the art of "Fatality" down to a science.

Let's not also forget Helen Walker, and I'm particularly thinking of her role as Brian Donlevy's wife in Impact. Conniving, vindictive, and self-centered to the max...

Excellent choice, Hellen Walker was second in my mind after Marie Windsor. She is tunningly beautiful in Impact, easily the type of woman a man might kill to have as the moive shows.;)

And the "moive" knows...:D Sorry, John.

Yeah, she is a beauty in the film, even in prison...well, that's Hollywood. You likely know that she had a tragedy in her life that affected her career. On New Year's Eve of '46, she gave a lift to three Soldiers, and was in an auto accident which resulted in the death of one and the serious injuring of the other two. She had just been signed for a plum starring role in the film Heaven Only Knows with Robert Mitchum, but her own injuries incurred in the accident caused the producers to replace her. Later when the surviving servicemen accussed her of speeding and drunk driving, the public and studios somewhat turned on her, thus ending her chance at superstardom (even though she was acquitted on both charges).

Brooks also played the cynical nightclub singer who distracts John Garfield from boxing and from Lilli Palmer in "Body and Soul."

Actually my favorite film noir actress is Marie Windsor, but someone already listed her.

Of course I guess a few more shots of her couldn't hurt. ;)
