I was seeing slow and steady progress on the breaking in and evolution of this teacore route 66. Thunderstorms hit last night, so I was like wtf, let's give it a go. Wore the thing to dry pretty much overnight. Really kicked into over drive. No sign of brown yet though.

talk about grains! that's lovely, the browns are peaking through on my iPad screen. can we get a comparison to start with?

alright! It's almost there. That's a super clean design. In what leather will it be?

There's a couple nicks from my cat and then the usual in the seams from the stitch holes etc. But no wear in the usual high stress areas.

Here's one of the first shots. It was always grainy, but now it's ultra and there's a lot more shape to it. We talked before how the teacore was on the thin side and didn't really hold shape. I think it's transforming. It's softened up a lot too.

looks like it was always grainy to start with but I do see how insane it looks now. mine hasn't been worn much but the arms are showing deeper creases now and it's holding its shape. mine also has very smooth fine grains so it hasnt showed that character yet. did your jacket get damp with the rain shower or did it just brush off water?

some light beading in the beginning, but didn't take much to start drinking it up. I was only out there maybe 2-3 minutes. Granted, was a pretty good down pour, but it was pretty soaked.

A quick question:

when ordering a jacket from Field, is the full payment required up front, or a deposit + balance when ready?

Gorgeous shinki. Great choice on the blue thread. What incredible grain. You must be so excited!!!

Look at the triple row stitching at the sides of pockets! It is insane how perfectly made this jacket is. I've never seen anything like it! Machinists usually just double the row. . .

Monitor. Where is my Joan Jet???
