Ah yes, chapter 3, section 2, paragraph 1, subset b of the GW playbook. Assure those in the Q all is well. Always. No hesitation. All is well my friends, all is well.

Lol. Ok, I’m done. Sorry.

I will say this, speaking of my own experience. There are undoubtedly FL customers like me who are actually behind on our end of the process, lol. I didn’t get a chance to send Sam references and measurements until months after she asked for them (and she kept nudging me to do so); I’m sure plenty of jackets were made in the time.
Ok. I hate to repeat myself, and I’m beginning to think I shouldn’t have to, but I am also an electrician. I just checked my Instagram and I see that I’m up to 34 followers.
How come nobody is asking me what they should be wearing?

Ha, well I have zero interest in these influencer guys but I do have an interest in your thoughts… which means you should probably rework your thoughts to be more influencer if you’re going to land the collabs.

(Seriously though, I’m still waiting on that Vanson Chopper El Marro Edition.)

It‘s your call whether you listen to more experienced players in the field or disregard their opinions as personal attacks, I guess. Anyway, if you want a cross zip, buy a Schott 618, it is a three times better jacket than any cross zip SB will bake you.

You’re not wrong, but I wouldn’t make that suggestion if I were you.

Hard to know without someone wearing it, but it does look rather long, doesn’t it?

Edit: typos, apparently I can’t type.
Indeed hard to tell without the jacket being worn. Maybe the missing belt makes it look long.

Anyway, it's a somewhat longer style by design. In terms of proportions this Leathertogs inspired Himel looks great on @Carlos840

The picture with the angle is probably not doing it any favors. I just hope whoever got that one can look down when zipped up, collar seems a bit high. Hopefully it can curl over like the original.

This one is mine. I will try to do a little review when it arrives.

We did two fit jackets, second one at Greg's insistence, not specifically because of the collar but fingers crossed, it works. I think you are correct regarding the angle of the photo because both fit jackets the length was good.
Now that's a good looking jacket. It only needs a belt and epaulets :)
Epaulettes have never been my thing although I've come around on them on certain designs. As for the belt similar feeling to the epaulettes but on this particularly design when undone I felt it looked particularly sloppy given the asymmetrical nature of the two front pieces.

I was in the fence about it but decided to without. I do agree it looks very good done up on that pic of @Carlos840

Greg was very helpful throughout the whole thing as was Sam and it was a fun process.

I wouldn’t worry, the curled over look really looks nice as demonstrated in the pic above and if it’s a bit long, it can almost look like one of those small 30’s collar.

What leather did you get?

Is Gregs version of the leathertog lined to the edge of the zipper? Only with a small leather inside facing on the top, so no bulk at the stomach?

This is a pic of the inside Greg sent me the other day: View attachment 500925
Thanks. And very cool.
That's how I see them. I have Lewis Mk1s and they make pouches in the stomach area. But the American leathertogs don't do that, they just rolls. I think the bulk reduction is the key here. It would be a nightmare to replace zippers but can be done. Real nice.

Personally I've never been interested in car coats and I don't think I ever will.

But look at the execution of this one. Perfect for showing off Greg's amazing skill as a machinist.

I love the look of those Art Deco buttons. I sent Greg NOS 30s buttons for my latest project and he liked them so much that he had a company reproduce them in black and brown.

This one's up for sale on eBay now: https://www.ebay.de/itm/28515027110...359JH/T7tgswfsPEbtoUnoC5yL|tkp:Bk9SR571pb_iYQ

I woke up and saw that FL car coat. If I didn't already have a Maxwell coming I'd bin it. I bet it will work as tag size suggested, maybe double check the length though, it seems to be on the longer side.

17.75" Shoulder/Size 42

20.5" Shoulder / Size 42 (tagged 44 but Japanese deerskin one size smaller and judging by all the horsehide La Breas posted here I am quite sure my deerskin is the same pattern as the 42 in horsehide)

Numbers can be deceiving. If there is enough room/material in the surrounding area then it will work, but those don't show up on the dimension numbers posted. Jackets are like cars, gotta test drive. Feels different but only knows in hand.
