Fez: Who's got 'em & where'd ya get 'em?

I've been kicking the idea around of picking up a fez for a while now, and before I do, I thought I'd see if anyone here has them where they recommend I get one.
I've found several websites that claim to sell genuine Moroccan Fezes, but there is not much detail about the hats themselves. Ebay hads a bunch of course, but most of them have Shriner embroidery. Ideally I'd like to get one made of nice felt with the vents on the top and a leather sweatband.

The tall red ones are neat but the English had a smoking hat that seems like an offshoot and those are really cool.

Most of the rest seem to be "costume" quality.

Slightly off topic:
Pictured below is a fez my friend Kim gave to me a couple years ago (found in a thrift shop in San Francisco)

Nomads of Avrudaka, the ladies' branch of the Knights of Pythias.

I never wear it, but it's just too groovy for words.

I suppose I might be enticed to wear it to a seance.
I mean, for me, a fez is kinda goofy and mystical at the same time

If anyone has info on the Nomads of Avrudaka, I would love to hear it!

It seems to me we have discussed this before, but...

I was in Fez (Morocco) a few years back. Most of the fezes I saw
there were made in China or the Czech Republic. But there
was a fez factory, which I did not manage to see. They
are worn, but not all that widely- like berets in Spain or France.
I gather they are still popular in Egypt?

As Sinatra pointed out, there's a good selection at villagehatshop.com . Even their most expensive one ($720 !) is wool felt, though they claim it's high quality. I believe them when they price one hat at $11.95 and one at $720; they seem like an honest company with integrity, though I've yet to buy a hat from them. (I've thought about getting their Iconoclast hat, but that'd be a pretty radical departure for me.) They have details about each fez they offer. Without knowing much really, my impression is that vents and sweatband are not really part of the style. Anyone know?

Thanks for all the info, gentlemen. I was looking at this one from the Village Hat shop before I started this thread, but I thought I'd beat the bushes here before I ordered anything:

According to the email I received from them, it is made from wool felt and has a leather sweatband. The small perferations at the top for ventilation are clearly visible in the pic. Unless I find one I like better at the Vintage show here in Elgin next weekend, I'll probably go with this one. I was hoping to spend less money, but so far this is the only new one I've found with a leather sweat.

Well, if you must know, My wife and are I are throwing a cocktail/housewarming party are our new home next month and I thought a fez would a nice finishing touch to my outfit! I'm also hoping to find a nice ascot and maybe some silk slippers at the vintage show to wear as well. The icing on the cake would be a smoking jacket or a lounging robe, but I've given up hope of ever finding one to fit my gargantuan frame!
Also, being one of the Indiana Jones fans who came over from COW when the Lounge started up, I have a "Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword" pin that I want to put on the front of the fez. It will fit in nicely with my collection.
