I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you rocking those in this thread a time or two before. So it’s completley possible you’ve answered this before and if so forgive me. Other than “Old French Military” do you have any other info on them? They are great looking boots and I’d love to find me a pair.

Yes sir, I was told they're French Foreign Legion boots, 50s-60s circa. They have the dual buckle straps up top (tanker style). I love them. They're super comfortable and constructed tough-as-nails! I've sourced 2 pairs so far on eBay & Etsy. These are size 43EU. I'm a 9.5, but I have a wide foot and they're a perfect fit.

I’m going to have to keep my eyes peeled on eBay and Etsy for a pair. Thanks! And once again those are badass. I have other rough-out service boots and a pair of Red Wing Muleskinners but there’s something about that pair.

My William Lennon Work Boots with a triple leather sole. I have worn them every day since I received them in early January and took this picture just now after treating them with Dr Martens Wonder Wax. I'm fairly happy with those, break in was relatively easy, leather holds up great even though I didn't go easy on them. The only issues I can find is that the rubber heel cap is coming loose and that the loops at the tops are coming apart, but these are easy fixes for a cobbler.

While I'd like some good boots, there are a few draws on the budget at present.

I'm looking for casual winter wear. I'm not expecting (nor can justify to the budget at present) Alden/Chippewa/RedWing/Viberg quality

Has anyone any experience with these? http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/us-ww2-service-boots-russet-brown-product,13968

I went ahead and purchased some. Initial impressions are good and they feel solidly made with very thick leather (will need a break in).

There are no insoles so I ordered a size larger and put in some Scholl insoles.

It looks a little bit like a leather blemish in this shot. Its not, I missed removing some of the saddle soap!
