That'd be cos I forgot to mention that part and now I can't figure out how to edit the post?

It's not that I dislike cap-toes, just they're not what I'm after right now?

I have both Beckman's and 1000mi.
I prefer the Wolverine's for comfort. You might look into the Wolverine Evans boot, or if you prefer a lug type sole- the Duvall. Try them on to get your size right. They run different. I have 9.5 RW and 9 1000mi.

Just placed the order for a black pair of White's original Packer boots, with Mini-Vibram soles. Now the wait, about 5 weeks I should see them. I'm blessed to have a good, broken in pair of Nick's boots in brown that are similar in design through the classifieds here on FL, and really love the high arch support (so does my back.) Going to see how the White's do also. May be a few good used pairs of boots going up for sale soon too!

These arrived late last week. They are crazy snug to my feet! The length is borderline...just about 3/8" or less from the end of the boot on the Left foot side as my Left foot is a bit longer. I've not warn these outside yet and just walking around in the house I would say I'm 50/50 on the fit. I ordered 12 D's however looking back wish I would have gone 12.5D's instead. Also the boots weigh 7.5 lbs. While a good work out, I think a little lighter overall may be better. The arch support is very strong. I also felt some pain in my Left foot at the rear middle section of the boots, maybe just a little stiff and needs break-in. Should decide this week if keep or exchange...

Red Wing Iron Rangers?
I have a pair of these, and have worn them as dress shoes over 60% of working days in past three years. Very comfortable, wear like "iron" and break in nicely (bit challenging at first). Only thing I could wish is a little more arch support in these however that would detract from the design to an extent. Not cheap but you get a lot of good quality for the money.

Sent these back today. Just too tight, wore them around the house on carpet a couple of times and finally gave up when the Back of my foot started hurting just 3-6" up from the heal. Somtimes need to listen to my feet.

Talking with the Customer Service folks at Drew's Boots, who I ordered these through, on White's you need to go up at least one full size, almost 1.5 sizes to get the right fit. My normal size is 11.5D. I am exchanging for the White's packers in 12D for Whites Vintage Packer in black Horween leather in a 13D. Actually a little less $$$ as they are machine lasted instead of hand-lasted. Can anyone her tell the differeance? I'm pretty excited to get these in 6-8 weeks!

Found these Filson boots at the Weinbrenner outlet. Only this pair was available and I can't seem to find the boots on the web. Maybe a one off pair? Who knows. Very nice.
