Thanks! The shoe portion of the boot is much softer than my brown pair, but the shaft portion is probably about the same. The deerskin boots are noticeably lighter than the brown pair. Got both pairs from Shepler's and they cost exactly the same.

AF

I got my first pair of cowboy boots last week from Sheplers and I'm thrilled with them and they were great to order from. I originally ordered a pair of very traditional Dan Post's but decided that a pair of Justin Classic Roper Boots were more for me and Sheplers very easily changed my order.

They're at the cobblers at the mo getting some Topy soles to protect the leather soles. I'll endeavour to post some snaps when I get them back.

Nice boots AF.

Nice. Is the two tone something they offer standard, or did you come up with that? I really like the Red Dog color. I have a pair of Red Wings in a similar burgundy/oxblood color, and I get more random compliments on those boots than any other article of clothing I have ever owned. It's kind of weird.

Bretron those are some seriously nice boots too!

You can choose different leathers for the vamp, counter and uppers for White's boots. This is something they let you choose anytime you order their boots if you are getting them made.

I have dealt with Sheplers off and on for 20 years and they have always been quick to make an exchange and help me get the right fit. Never had a problem. Now especially after a broken foot I have trouble with the width and have to exchange from time to time. Atticus the Ariats look great. I use to wear the tight fit Lucchese boots or Tony Lama but now I have really enjoyed these crepe soles for everyday work. Coat, tie and Justins ( or Wescos ) look great still.

Here is my pair of 8111s.. I had initially bought them to wear until my White's order came through... However the more I wear these, the more I seem to love them. These actually look better now than when new.

The laces on these are from the Beckman boot.

As much as I want to hate Indy boots, I absolutely love them (and mine!)

Just the perfect mix of rugged and sleek. A must have

Lofgren's new logger boots are badass as hell. Would love to see a side by side comparison of them with other lace to toe boots (eg wesco, whites, lone wolfs).

Ishmael, righty right. I'm mainly interested to see how these look compared to similar lace-to-toe boots like a pair of 6-7" high Wesco Jobmasters or Whites Smokejumpers. The JL models are obviously more refined looking, but I'm dying to know how much so. Not trying to debate the merits of buying these over the other brands (trust me!), but I'm very curious to know how much different they look.

They're cool stinkin boots. I have a pair of L2T SJs in black CXL and love em (wife thinks they're ridiculous, but I can still hang). I could see some brown L2Ts in my future :D

Yeah, I know. Me too. But I don't have any to compare with. I've seen a lot of Whites and Wescos in stores though. Basically the JLs are far more refined. Whether you want or need that is a personal choice.

Leather laces.
