I have a pair of Arkansas too and they are very comfortable. Unfortunately I have had to get my pair repaired twice in the three or four years I've had them but I wear them a lot and consdering they were a nice deal on Zappos I am quite happy. The cognac colour ages very well too.

There is one boot I forgot to mention for the suit and that is Sendra. I have a brown pair of Sendras ( David Beckham Sendra engineers with a kick ) that would look great with the right type of suit. Not American but good looking hot boots for a young man. These are heavy boots and well priced. You migh like and I can still dream when I was that age! lol lol

Alden Indy is such a classic boot, shame that it hasn't been mentioned yet. Might find a seconds or slightly used model for close to budget.

Sendra makes some NICE looking boots! I'll second that recommendation. Any pics of yours floating around the Lounge KYboots?
They are made in Spain if I'm not mistaken.

Those look awesome, Breton. Can I ask what the build specs were? Is that there standard brown leather? I wasn't originally a Cuban heel guy, but am starting to dig it.

Of course, the OP said he was looking for a boot he could wear with a suit (occasionally) and the only "suit" these boots would look good with is a Canadian tuxedo.

These just came yesterday, and I'm insanely happy with them! Fit is great, super comfy right out of the box, and just a gorgeous boot! and when it comes to bang for buck, it's pretty tough to beat Wolverine 1000 Mile seconds for $150



P.S. Breton, those Whites look pretty amazing too! I've fondled a pair or two of Whites, beautiful, super well made boots.

Nice boots Matt. How does their sizing run compared to other brands? Sometimes I wear a 9 1/2, 10 or 10 1/2 depending on the maker. Red Wing Iron Rangers, I wear a 10. TIA

Thanks! They run large. I wear an 11E or 12D (for some reason never an 11.5) and in these 11D is perfect. I've never tried on an IR, but I'd guess you'll want to go 9 1/2 if your foot is not super wide. They also offer a 3E width if it is.

@Mattface, congrats on the 1Ks! I would completely agree with you that at $150, it's a no-brainer. Wow! Looks like we both did well yesterday

@Grayland, the build on these is: brown dress leather, leather lined, antique brass hooks and eyelets, single celastic toe box, double leather soles, standard trim, brown dyed edges, and standard Cuban heel. I wasn't totally sold on these type of heels at first- wife would always tease me re my high heels- but I have come to the full appreciation of them. Not only do I think the curved heel looks sexier (yeah, I said it), but it offers a more comfortable gate or walk, as your boots rock to step rather than clunk! Still in huge debate on my next pair, but regardless they'll be White's on the #56 last (the semi-dress last). And I've seen some pretty sharp dressed Canadians

@Boyo, I still owe ya a group shot BTW how are your Trench Boots holding up? Perhaps you'll get some more wear outta them now that the Vortex of Evil is passing- you dudes really got hammered

I on the other hand have a pair of White's bounty hunter and was looking for something with block heels e.g. the Hathorn traveler when I came across the Lone Wolf at a sale price. Am still thinking of getting the traveler in black though.

Oh no, I am just saying since I have the White's, I was looking for something different.
One interesting thing I notice though is that these Lone Wolf Mechanics are not made with Horween leather as some sellers have claimed on the internet. I think only the Lone Wolf Engineer boots are Horween.
