Good for you! You can look at it from this perspective: For everything you toss, give away or donate you can replace it with a like item that you WILL use :) That way, you won't feel so bad about getting rid of it.

And to the ladies that responded to my post about liquid and creams-the chemists who work for the makeup company I used to work for gave us those tips/guidelines so I wasn't pulling that info from thin air ;)

I like that theory! Then I wont feel so bad chucking it! Though I go by the "if you havent used it in that long, then clearly, your not going to!"

IMPORTANT PSA ABOUT MAC!

That deal they have where you bring in 6 lipstick tubes and get a free lipstick?

All Mac containers count, not just lipstick! Mascara tubes, lipsticks, powder compacts, eyeshadows, foundation....

Thanks for the PSA! I had that thought the other day...couldn't remember if it was just l/s or not.

I just bought my first red l/s from them. Lady Bug with red enriched l/l. What would you say are their most vintage-y looking colors, as far as their lip products? I'm obsessed with red right now! ;)

Check out the red lipstick thread. There are tons of mentions of Mac colors in there. You'll probably see that Russian Red and Ruby Woo are the favorites. I also like Glam, which has a pinker tinge to it.

So lets keep specific recommendations over there okay?

Which is why I didn't post this question in a seperate thread. I figured asking it in a thread which is specifically directed towards MAC wouldn't be a problem. I didn't know about the "favorite red lipstick brand/shade" thread but don't really have the time to go through a 22 pages. I'll bookmark it anyways. Thanks.

Try going into the thread, and then selecting "search this thread" and search for Mac. That should be a faster way to find the info you're looking for.

i really think it's a shame to buy pricy products and than toss them out when they'r still half full, here's what i do; every time i buy a new lipstick i cut it carefully with a sharp knife (sounds cruel, i know...) and press the product into a little pill-box or empty container (like the little besame eye-shadow containers) and refill whenever needed. this way i keep the lipstick fresh and germ free ;) you can do this with concealer, foundation and other products too.

All of my MAC arrived yesterday - as well as a few Amazon orders - I was like a kid at Christmas!

My problem is that I LOVE make up and just have to have it! Hence, I have accumulated heaps and then don't use it! (To be honest - its more a self esteem shopping pick me to get to the root of the matter!)

Ive gotten over my "cant be bothered" phase and have bought myself heaps of new stuff that is not fad-like but is something I will use, so all is good!

Congrats, Rita! What did you get? I've been on a bit of a MAC binge myself and can't wait for the couture collection in November. Supposedly it will be gold and art deco inspired!

I'm sure lots of ladies here will be happy to take any extras off your hands!! ;)

Let me ask a question though - what's so special about Mac Naughty? It looks just like any other Mac line.

LOL :)

Its not a special line. I was just feeling all Greys Anatomy like since they Mc everything. I just put a spin on it!

I got a couple of brushes, a blush, a fluidline eyeliner, 3 new shadows, a mascara, a primer....but I just want more now!

I know that feeling all too well! Instead of satisfying a hunger it just intensifies it for more, more, MORE! hehe I just had a big haul at their counter last weekend only to end up ordering 2 pigments and a brush yesterday. :p

I do that with my old tubes of lipstick. It's really handy! Who makes the Bette Davis case? It's so cute!
