I would say there are as many, if not more, fedora-wearers here than in any major city in the country, and I've visited most of them (the major American cities, that is -- not the fedora wearers).

All I know is, I've seen any number of posts here from folks who felt (or were made to feel) out of place or under the spotlight when they wore fedoras or dressed vintage in public, and I can honestly say I've never felt that way here in NYC, and I dress vintage (and wear a fedora) virtually every day.

Now, whether that says more about NYC or about me (or perhaps both), I don't know.

.
Maybe instead of a traveling hat we should just have skyvue visit every fedora wearer. Then there can be a thread where the Traveling Fedora Lounger writes about his adventures. (just nobody keep skyvue for a year before passing him on)

Agreed. I've encountered very little of the mean spirited and outright hostility noted by other hat wearers.

I have had only positive comments for the most part and I wear a hat everyday.
Once in a while I will get the flippant remark but that doesn't bother me. They are usually young and trying very hard to look cool or tough. I get smiles and approving nods primarily.

I agree, I see more hat wears here than in any other city I have been. Not all are great but people are wearing them.
