I would like to say thanks to all you guys for posting these great pictures, I really enoy them. Looks like a great weekend. That Saturday was my birthday. I turned 50. I celebrated by spending 17 hours in the tractor planting beans. Monday we got a pounding 3" rain. I will have to replant. You guys had way more fun!

Here is Josh's right after putting his hat on for the first time Look at the smile you will see two more smiles like that in this thread.

This hat took Josh 10 hours of constant work and his head was swirling with all the knowledge that he was learning in the process. Sweat Hat Josh, I know I can not wait to sit down and make mine own hat working with Mike and Rocky. What a blast.
That's all for today I will post Bill's and Robert's photo's tomorrow.

Wow-- I have not been following this thread, but this is some amazing stuff! Thanks for posting such great pictures and such wonderfully detailed narratives.

Now, Josh, that is a hat I can drool over. My lord. Way to go, man! Instant holy grail for me, for sure! I just can't get over it.

Well, we'll hang in there until our daughter is through college, Ed. To be fair, most of our clients have been great, but there is always the exception to make things frustrating.

I'm thinking at some point, I'll probably sell most of my gear and maybe buy a Leica and a few nice lenses just for fun.

But on the bright side, we got a great tip this weekend that will let me invest in a nice Montecristi!

Thanks for the info! Rocky's and Josh's hats are two uncontested winners in my book.

Thanks very much, B-Man!! I spent a lot of time on the hat (probably a bit more than I should have) but I love the way it turned out. I am going to tweak the crease a little and then I will re-post some pics.

So the final hat to show is Robert's (RLK) He was the last one to decide to make a hat on Saturday so here it goes.

I was able to do video of Robert working.:) After Pouncing ( sanding off the rough fur to get the hat body smooth.

You iron the brim and the crown with an iron. Robert is using a 20 lbs iron to iron his brim flat.

He also put some oil I think it was. I sure someone can remember.:) on his crown as he ironed it to make the crown smooth.
