Oops, did not mean to interrupt your excellent photo stream, Ed!

No problem Al I am going to stop and eat breakfast right now. An let you guys comment for a bit.

I didn't really take a lot of pictures, though I meant to lol. Here are the best ones I could scrounge up.

This is probably the best photo I took. Unfortunately Mike was just outside of the frame talking to Robert, and I only managed to get some of Robert in there. I would've backed up some more if there hadn't been a wall behind me .

This table was the "central hub" of the shop where we all spent most of our time. I suspect it's because of the chairs.

From the upper level where a lot of the western wear is located, I couldn't hear well but I believe that Robert and Mike were looking through Robert's extensive collection of Stetson adverts.

Saturday morning I was pleasantly surprised to see this gentleman wearing the teal Stetson Buckaroo I won off Ebay many months ago. I had sold it to Mike, who sold it to this man. A very snappy vest to go with it, might I add :eusa_clap.

Waiting around for some of the guys, who we thought were asleep, but arrived shortly before the bus to Memphis was going to leave lol.

On the bus headed to Beale Street and the Memphis BBQ Championship! I took some photos after this, but with the failing light they were mostly of poor quality. I'll really on the others for the night scene shots.

Here, I believe Rocky is working with a hat in the new color, Beaver Brown, while Jeff looks on. I'm not sure what Bob's got in his hands over there.

We ate at Marlo's in Old Town Hall Saturday night. It was an excellent meal. BarrowJH even managed to find a couple of ornate hat trees somewhere in the restaraunt and brought them over. Again, the lighting here was low so I couln't get any good shots, but I had a great time.

Nice shots Neo---especially from the upper level. All of the pics posted over the past couple of days really make me realize what a great time I missed. Thanks for the photos though. At least we can get a feeling for this ultimate fedora hang.

We made it thru the Chicago riot unscathed but delayed. Never a good thing to see the sign over the Chicago highway reading "All Lanes Closed Ahead". Forgot my camera in Robert's car, so my pics will not be posted for a while.

Have to echo the huge thanks to Mike Moore for his "exceeds all expectations" hospitality. Rusty for his help with pulling off another Fest. Special thanks to Art for working on his vacation.

It was a great time, made even more awesome by participating in the making of my "hat with no name". The bonus was Mike let me make it with his new Beaver Brown color! I have the honor of having the 2nd hat made with the new color. Thanks to Mike, Rocky, and Art for their help with us apprentice hatters.

I share all of the sentiments expressed above. Mikes generosity and energy made this a truly special event. Big thanks to Rocky for guiding me through first attempts on the making of my hat.

We must have been pretty exhausted since I now have Bill's camera as well as Josh's suit and tie.

So My next set of Pictures is from Saturday Josh decided that he wanted to make himself a hat.

Mike has placed Josh's hat on a 52 block in his size and has tied a hatter's knot.

So after the felt has been placed on the block and and pushed down tight and hatter's knot tied the block is placed on the
spinner motor for pouncing. I will show Bill securing his hat on the block in another series of pictures.

Here Josh is removing the hat from the spinner motor. This is after at least a half Hour to and Hour of work.

Then you pounce the hat brim didn't get Josh doing this step but to have Robert doing it. This takes another hour of work as you have to do the top and bottom of the brim. An you have to be careful to pounce evenly around the brim.

Next Mike sewed in the sweatband on Josh's hat.

Next Josh decided on the width of his brim and he wanted a brim curl. There are three radius of curl so that had to be decided
they had to figure out how much brim there should be.

Here Rocky is starting the pencil curl of Josh's hat.

Once the curl had been put into Josh's hat he could start to work on his ribbon. He picked on his color from Mike's ribbon room. An started to work .

At this point Josh was starting to sew the ribbon on the way he knew how and Art stopped him to show him another way to do
it.

Here Josh is sewing on the ribbon that Art had ironed and Art is drinking some medicine.

Josh has just started on his ribbon and he frayed the rear of the ribbon like some 20's have. Which I love gives the ribbon a wind blown look that used on his great Josh's Milan (pronounced MY Land I learned. )

Here Josh has finished the bow with the center twist isn't that sweet.

Josh now went about sewing the bow to the hat.

Here is the finished bow and ribbon detail.

Final step was the get the brim and bash for the hat just right. Josh like's the center dent.

Back to the steamer and you have to watch-out that steam is out. As many found out that day.

Here is Josh's right after putting his hat on for the first time Look at the smile you will see two more smiles like that in this thread.

This hat took Josh 10 hours of constant work and his head was swirling with all the knowledge that he was learning in the process. Sweat Hat Josh, I know I can not wait to sit down and make mine own hat working with Mike and Rocky. What a blast.

He was always there with a answer about felt... felt color and many questions about the whole felting process.
Thank you my friend!!!!

I would also like to let Art know how much I enjoyed our visits.
It says alot about our part of the Lounge when two Bartenders get together and only discuss 2 things
about the Hat Forum. And they were very minor and very short to discuss.
Thanks Art.

And to Mike... all I can say is thanks for being my friend!

My two favorite hats in this entire thread are Josh's straw and the open road style hat in RBH's first picture. Josh, care to share info on your hat? I can see one of those in a teardrop/c shape in my future.

Here are a couple of shots of the new Beaver Brown color from Buckaroo Hatters. I'm not going to put the pics in the Buckaroo thread because I did the felt finishing, not someone at Buckaroo. Don't want to give someone the wrong impression. But these shots represent the color a little better.
