After reading the great reviews on the Fed IV, I have ordered one. Here is my questions. What is you favorite bash? How high is your crown? Thanks

This carbon grey Fed IV is my favorite fedora. It's a minimalistic bash. I gave it a slight crease from front to back and a couple of indents on the side. It's roughly 4-1/2" front, 4-3/4" highest point on the side, and 4-3/8" rear.

Why do you ask?
I've got mine shaped semi Indy with a center dent.

I don't have exact measurements on the crown height, but I kept it as tall as I could.

The nice thing about the Federations is the ability to take on many looks well.

I have 2 Fed IV's. A tawny fawn and a moonstone. The tawny is my favourite everyday hat. I went with the teardrop for both. Fairly tight pinch for both. Crown height in the front is slightly over 4" and 3.75 in the back. I'm thinking I must fall on the "shorter" end of the crown height scale.

I gave mine a modified Maltese Falcon bash. Instructions are on another thread. Sorry, I don't remember exactly where. This is one of my top two or three favorite hats.

Hey theinterchange, yup, both regulars. I really liked the tawny fawn colour, so it was my original Fed IV. I was so pleased with it I ordered the moonstone in regular as well.

By request...

6 Fed IVs, 5 with teardrop crease with a height about 4 1/2 ", one Indy style with centre dent at about 5" in height. I'm 6'2" so I find I can do the taller crowns but with the Fed's the beauty is you can bring them up or down as it suits you.

Triple F: Kudos to you, I was hoping you'd come through! I just like looking at your great pictures :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Without recalling from your previous postings, I was trying to guess which one has the center dent as you just posted the front shots. My guess is the tawny Fed IV??

Can we get Goose in this thread?

Well, I have yet to grab up a Fed IV, but I have had 4 Fed III's, varying in height and bash dramatically. I don't have any pictures left of my first one (thanks to a computer crash) but it was a very shallow c-dent. Here is a shot of my carbon gray diamond bash, black center dent, and my Campdraft with a "whatever-the-heck" bash. lol

For my last Fed III, I went for something very different;

Oh, yes. I use it when I'm working outside, shoveling snow, walking the dog, running errands. I favor more traditional fedoras most of the time, but I trust my Fed when it's time to get wet, dirty, or very casual.

Ahh, the ol' Fed III. Just as outlandishly tall but in great aesthetic proportion overall, at least.

I kinda missed that model up until the AkAd.

not the best pics, but the only one I have at work. the crown peaks out somewhere's around 4" in the back.

I really love the hat, I just wish it was one size larger. it's shrunk more the I anticipated and it's a little tight.

2nd on my wish list is a tan one and have Major Moore change it to a standard brim and then bind the edges in a whippit style.
