Lots of great jackets recently, but from piecing together a lot of posts I think we have a whole bunch of interesting jackets due in soon. I have a brown goatskin Board Racer from Aero and a Langlitz Cascade coming in the next 4 weeks or so.

What else do we get to drool over soon?

Premier Half belt in Black Vicenza with Speedway Back. Got notice they were finishing it up so it should be on its way soon!

50s sheepskin lined Windward, which I received, but want to review it with my used Gibson Barnes G-1 which should get here Tuesday. Double dose of mouton on its way. I ended up holding off on the boots for now.

Looking forward to that Nick, should be an interesting review comparing the two. I keep thinking about some mouton, just can't decide on one.

Look forward to seeing your Winward, we don't get to see it enough around here.

Thanks. And thanks to member here Buler. I've been trying to think of how to best compare the old horsehide to the new stuff. It's much lighter in weight (or feels like it), and has kind of an "airy, weightless" feel when on. That might be because of the thick lining though. Yet when I lift it up or bend the arms when it's not being worn, I can feel some of its rigidity. What's nice about it is there is little apprehension or worry about fit as when I've ordered a new custom jacket. It just works, without being a perfect fit. I have some photos up on the "people interested in vintage leather jackets" facebook group page, but I really need to get better ones up here.

Personally, I've never suffered from the FQHH-as-armour syndrome. My LHB stood up by itself initially, but it wasn't rigid and softened pretty quickly. It's still heavy, but has a 'flop' to it.

The Aero in FQHH I owned was well on its way to breaking in quickly before I sold it. My Johnson in CXL steer no longer stands up by itself, but doesn't seem to be breaking in quickly at all (haven't worn it too much out though). Both were substantial leathers, much different than the Windward. The Windward feels more like goat or close to A-2 horsehide weight. With a heavier leather, I'll admit, you do feel kind of like you got more bang for your buck sometimes.
My tastes have fluctuated quite a bit, but at the moment I'm more into the lighter leathers. I just have to accept that either can feel superior or inferior to the other at times.

Johnson Leathers is working on a custom 1930s Levi half belt in back over die CXL steer hide. Should be ready in two weeks. I was fitted with a test mock up wool jacket last week.

The prospect of having to break in five heavy leather jackets brings me out in cold sweat...:D Just makes sense to have a mix.

Lots of great jackets coming down the pipeline for you guys. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the langs..

Just finalized all my details with Alan yesterday so that should be a couple of weeks. Also waiting for vanson to get their next batch of waxy comp leather for a chopper. That should be a month.

I really really like the aero brown cx steer hide. I'm struggling with what style to get. Like the j107 for the bike but prefer more of a cafe racer off the bike. I get the feeling that a j107 would be too short in casual situations (monitor knows the feeling). Does aero have a traditional chips style of jacket or is the j107 pretty much it?

I have two Aero builds coming in through Thurston. First is a Premier Range 1920's Work Coat in Dark Seal Vicenza with light tan contrast stitching (should be here within a week...fingers crossed!).
Second is a Maxwell in brown FQHH with olive drab stitching.....hoping to get a notification shortly as well that this one is complete.
Very anxious to compare the two...these will be my first "new" Aero's (the bug has bit me quite hard since stumbling on Aero about 3 months ago).
Currently breaking in a beautiful black FQHH Board Racer I purchased from pawineguy.....and I'm surprised that its not nearly the grueling process many describe.
Hoping to see a lot of new photos from members here over the next month or so.
