Ah, yes. Those pins. They always somehow remind me of cheap jewelry from Woolworth's. No congruence with the quality of the hat. Now, something in 18K ....

It's sad to see so many people suffering from pteronophobia.

To me, a hat seems incomplete without a feather - not those garish feather bunches that one finds on cheap hats, but a personal feather chosen to compliment the hat. For example, my midnight blue Barisio sports a tiny iridescent midnight blue feather, while my 1910 Panama has a bright green parrot feather. I have a small collection of found feathers that I change to suit the hat and the occasion.

I have one felt fedora (an old Resistol Porno Beaver) that I wear with a found feather. I sometimes favor that hat when doing something rustic outdoorsy.

And I will sometimes stick a small dried flower or found feather on one particular old Montecrisiti as the mood strikes me.

Otherwise, I don't usually wear a feather in my hat.
