I never thought I'd see the day that I would sell off a VS, but I just don't wear it enough to keep it. Basically, I'm so sensitive to the heat that there's only about a 5 degree window I can wear the lightweight felt without being too cold or too hot. Shame, because I love the felt and the hat.
It is a Whippet clone, shaped by Art to resemble a lid posted by Wolfmanjack a few years ago. 2 5/8" brim, crown is 4 5/8" as shaped. Deep crease, so I'm sure it could be reblocked for a little more height.
My head measures 23 1/2 inches today, with a fresh buzz cut. The hat fits perfectly, no wiggle room. The sweat has likely done all the shrinking it's going to do. The only signs of use are on the sweatband, which has a strange finish (Art doesn't use it anymore). The discoloring appeared with one wearing because the finish doesn't really repel sweat. If I had kept it, I would have had the sweat replaced this year.
Asking $225 + shipping within CONUS, or Canada.
I'll be happy to send it to Art or any known hatter here for service with that hatter's OK.
This hat appears on Art's website, under the client creations (last on the bottom). Here are more shots of the hat:
