My husband bought me a bottle of Joy - it's our special perfume for date nights! I love it!

I used to wear Arpege - I never much liked it but it was given to me as a gift. And I had a cat at the time who loved it. It was like catnip for him. He'd rub his face all over my neck and wrists and purr and then go floppy. Crazy animal!

I love gardenia and jasmine scents - is Chanel Gardenia a really pure scent?

Just a heads up....a fantastic fragrance from Caswell Massey is back on the market- CASMA!

It was one of Carole Lombard's favorite scents!

A mix of rose, jasmine and magnolia touched with vanilla and silken musk blended to create a sophisticated and feminine scent.

Oooh, that sounds really nice, and I love the bottle!

I love gardenia and jasmine scents - is Chanel Gardenia a really pure scent?

There are some white flower notes in Chanel's Gardenia and some vanilla, but it doesn't have any weird notes. Since you like Joy you'll probably like it.

You might check out Fracas too, it is a tuberose scent that is really pretty. I can't wear it myself, but it is beautiful on one of my friends.

I bought a bottle of Tabu the other day,it came with a tube of matching body lotion for $14(AU),bargain!I'd forgotten how good it smelled,my mum used to wear it when i was little.It's cheap enough also that i can wear it all the time & not just save it for special occasions

I have a love/hate relationship with Arpege. It's haunting. It can also be spooky, so I don't know that I'd wear it I guess it's the aldehydes...it reminds me of something a ghost would smell like which is both a little eerie and sort of romantic. The drydown is worth it, but the initial aldehydes scare me off.

I love this description, it made me go out an buy a bittle. I love the initial smell but when it dries it smells a bit like Laiment by Coty on me. I wear Crystal Noir by versace daily- it's not vintage but it is lovely!

I absolutely adore Guerlain! So many of their perfumes were first released in the 1920s/30s and their cosmetics are so elegant with packaging that is still so elegantly vintage looking. 1920s Paris - Oh the glamour!!!!!

Totally not a vintage maker, but an interesting scent for those into the tiki thing: Harajuku Lovers G smells like Polynesian drinks. Kind of like a headhunter. I love it for summer. Both the perfume and the drink...

So i went to the Guerlin counter and held the bottle of Mitsouko lovingly in my hands- i liberally sprayed my wrists with the fragrance and......Oh my God! It was awful - it had those base notes that Joop has- it made me feel physically sick- I was so gutted as i really wanted to love it, especially since Calypso in the Camomile Lawn wears it.

I liked Vol de Nuit but funnily it smells almost exactly like the chilli vodka I make- even my husband said so!

I don't really get all the Mitsouko fuss, but I've only tried it in the EDT concentration. Vol de Nuit is one of my favorites though. The extrait is heavenly but out of my budget at the moment. That must be some chili vodka!
