The perfumes I own are all pretty "comptemporary".

I love patchouli, so Lush's Karma is one of my regular perfumes.
I have pretty extensive Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume collection, smelling and collecting their perfume oils is a total obsession for me!
My favorites: Snake Oil (vanilla and spices), Event Horizon (opium and orchids) and Marie (a copy of Marie Antoinette signature perfume, so I guess, it kind of like a vintage perfume! It's roses and violets).
And then I feel without inspiration: D&G's Impératice (sweet grapefruit, commercial smell).

Mine is Jessica Simpsons FANCY, it's main scent is vanilla...
Fancy is surprisingly sophisticated for a celebrity scent - I wear it too and always enjoy it.

Of the perfumes that have been around for longer than five minutes, I love Chanel No.5 and Mitsouko, and feel very sophisticated when I wear them. I also wear Youth Dew bath oil as perfume in winter. It's lovely and blooms very well on skin without being overpowering.

My favourite at all time is Samsara (very heavy oriental scent with jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla and other scents) by Guerlain, but right now i'm really in to Burberry Body (a fruity but sophisticated scent) that I received as a gift. It smells so good!

For a man, buying his lady a special fragrance, is a minefield, something akin to buying her underwear. It's to be avoided at all costs. Unless, you happen to run your own distribution company, and, are fortunate enough to have cornered the market in the distribution of perfume. My wife adores Estee Lauder, and their sister company Clinique. She wears 'White Linen' for day time use and entoxicates me with 'Cinnabar' for evening wear. Her favourite Clinique fragrance is called 'Wrappings' Not exactly an exotic name, but one that's only available in the UK through Harrods. Or, if you happen to be very lucky, the Clinique staff shop.
By the way, the distribution of perfume may sound enviable, but remember, it includes Avon, which most have heard of. And Robertet, which most haven't.
Robertet supply industrial perfume to the likes of Proctor & Gamble for use in soaps, washing up liquids and cleaning materials. But the most unpalatable customers have to be the sewage treatment plants. They supply a perfume that doesn't exactly give an acceptable adour, more, a neutralising of something that is, well..............................

I'm also a big fan of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I haven't bought any new scents in ages, but as I have over a hundred bottles, I'm not lacking. I have too many favorites, most of them limiteds that are no longer available, like Candy Butcher (dark chocolate) and Midway (funnel cake, candy apples, cotton candy, ect.). Yes, I do like the foodie fragrances, and also the citrus ones like Cheshire Cat and Fae.

My husband wears their fragrances too, and they are so much better than most men's fragrances! Some of his are Whitechapel, Parliment of Monsters, Saint-Germain and Arkham Revisted.

I gotta go pretty boring and old school on this one with the ever predictable Chanel No. 5 and Guerlain's Shalimar. At the same time I grew up with a mother who favours men's cologne above all else so I like to dabble in wearing my partner's Chanel Egoiste and Armani Code. I'm a bit of perfume lover/stalker in general!

I used to have a real problem with Chanel No. 5 because my gran wore it, which isn't the sexiest association you can have. But lately I've learned to love it. My biggest love affair is with Penhaligon's scents, though. I especially love Amaranthine. I realise it's not for everyone, but I love the naughtiness of it. I love Guerlain's Jicky for the same reason!

BPAL's Morocco. I just feel all kinds of sexy when I wear it. ;)

In standard perfumes, I stick with Shalimar.

I'm currently out of both. I feel like an inferior woman...

I haven't tried Parissiene but love all the others on your list!

I would add Diorissimo, Forever and Ever Dior, and Stella by Stella McCartney to my list.

I love Ed Hardy "Born Wild" (it smells watermelon-y, which I LOVE!) And Lady Gaga "Fame" (which smells grape-y). I love fruity scents.

Well thank you. You must try it! Also, I forgot to mention because I haven't had any in a while but I really like Lush's Gorilla perfume in Vanillary...so nice.
I'll have to try the ones you mentioned. :)

My perfume is Jessica McClintock. I've been wearing it since it came out. My husband wants me to try other scents, but this one feels like me. My little one tells me I smell like Mama to her.

I wonder if when she's older and living on her own she'll always think of me when she smells that scent. I know I think of my mom whenever I smell White Shoulders.

Back when my skin would still tolerate scent, my two favourites were Pierre Cardin for Men and a bergamot based spray from Avon. It would probably be fair to say I have unsophisticated tastes.

Canoe by Dana is a good summer scent for me. I can't find the original Ambush, so this takes it's place. Shalimar and Chanel No. 5 will always be in rotation.
