I don't recall any 'buzz' about William Powell and Myrna Loy off-screen?
I remember an interview with Myrna in which she talked about Clark Gable. She said that Gable always slept with his leading ladies, and expected the same when he was paired with her (Miss Loy). She said that she felt badly for Clark, because he was sort of trapped in this macho persona and everyone expected him to be what he was on-screen.
So one evening Gable shows up at the door of Myrna Loy, and he's charming and asking to come in, and she turned him down flat and sent him off. And they worked fine together. (whatever picture it was)
I've never heard any buzz about she and William Powell, but they certainly had chemistry on screen.
I like the "acting" of the old movies. One of the most attractive things about Myrna Loy is the facial expressions she makes ,they just draw you in. Just like Lucille Ball , her facial expressions make the comedy. You're right Fibber, movies today just throw a big name guy and a lesser-known leading lady, or vice versa. There aren't any pairs. Acting today is also horrible. Movies seem to be primarily special-effects or videography-driven rather than by plot or acting
