Pancakes with a poached egg on top, with butter and maple syrup, bacon on the side. Served with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee.

Country fried steak and gravy, with homemade mac-n-cheese, and fresh collard greens and cornbread with plenty of hot peppers, and maybe some peach cobbler for dessert. With plenty of ice cold sweet tea.

A big bowl of chili and a grilled cheese makes me feel pretty darn good too, as long as it's good chili.

How in the world is anyone really expected to answer this question with honesty and dignity? I am thinking there is no one "food item" unless it would be something like a candy bar.....but a meal...now that is another matter.....

Daniel makes a crab ball....makes it look like a crab, too. I'll just have to find the pictures of that and post it in a few places.....that crab ball, comfort food. You can't eat it all as it is so rich...but you are addicted to it.

Crab ball has philly cream cheese, diced sharp cheddar, diced aged swiss, pound of real crab meat (already cooked) green onions, sweet peppers, tobasco, garlic, coarse ground black pepper, radishes, celery, all mixed into a bowl with some seafood cocktail sauce. You mix/mush it all together then put it in the freezer to get it to be very firm....best to do one hour and then in the regular fridge overnight...covered. Next day, grab a platter, use the mix like molding a football shape, add some carrots cut thin and long, olives, long green onions, or celery. Cut some green peppers in thin strips. All these veggies are used to make arms an antennae/eyes for the crab. Pour some more seafood cocktail sauce on top of the "body" of the crab....before serving place an array of good confection fancy crackers all around the platter or tray....and have everyone use a small plate to sort of nibble this with the crackers. This also is a meal just made for some light wine...and no kids around! lol!

Not much on wings, but the rest I agree with you on.
Of course the first four items would require me to add something hot and spicy. :D

Anything squid related...or lobster. Not comfortable dealing with the shell though. Jumbo prawns come in at a close third. And it's been a while, but an abalone beats them all.
