favorite cars of the golden era

ba***rd Code of Ethics, Mr. Powers.lol (And in light of her location, I don't think MG's would exactly be a good idea, actually even more of a problem than in yours! Oh by the way, you'd need a Class 2 FFL to mod 'em for the mounting brackets...

Besides, I'd give you the "Lounger Discount"--15%, not including expenses.:D Feel better now?

I'll crochet you mittens in exchange for fixing up my car (when I get it in any number of years)

So there it's not free!

Or maybe I was just rubbing it in your face that I don't HAVE to pay, but I will do it anyway just because I can?

We'll never know!

Well we have to keep in mind here that I'm a student which means I'm quite poor. And worse than that, I'm in school for acting and everyone knows that's a degree for a McDonalds position...so chances are I'm not going to have that beautiful car any time in the near future!

:p

Oh you're so right. I could always just dip into the hundreds of millions of dollars left to me by my great aunt...all I have to do is spend a night in her haunted mansion and it and the car will be all mine! Mine I say!

Haunted Mansion? I love those! Have fun. I am sure you could get plenty of volunteers (Diamondback at the front of the line:p ) to protect you from any of the things that go bump in the night from the hereafter. ;) :D
You could even call in the TAPS team. lol
I get shotgun for the first ride. :D

Well I'm no wimp. What do you think I am, a girl or something?

Let me tell you, I've used a few Ouija boards in my day! No ghost can get me! haha

Oh, I never said you were helpless. No woman I have ever known was totally helpless. In fact a few might scare away the toughest ghosts.lol
I stay away from the Ouija Boards due to an experience a friend had with the use of one. I just say---no thanks. :D

Ah, yes, you can have shotgun--you'll be a perfect guinea-pig for the ejection seats. And I might even have a connection to deal with the spectral problem--another of the Horsemen is an ordained minister, maybe he knows someone who can do an exorcism. Too bad my own specialty is threats that need "deanimation"... ain't yet seen a hollowpoint that can kill an apparition.

As for earlier, I said "I work free", not "I work free and supply the parts"... and I was saying that just me not charging on labor's a huge cost-cutter.

Yes, one who seems to have a penchant for underestimating herself.;) Heck, I've known ladies who had more balls (metaphorically) than many so-called "guys" I've had to suffer dealing with...

One of the things I probably say most often to the men in my life is "Grow a pair. I've got bigger balls than you," and they've started to say "Yeah but you've got bigger balls than everyone, Alex."

I've had a lot of fun with Ouija boards and have had my death predicted a number of times on dates that have already passed. I also like to read tarot cards. I think they're really neat, but I don't take them seriously.

Once I did a tarot reading, didn't like the answer so I (cheating) shuffled again and re-dealt them and they were the exact same cards in the exact same order. So I was annoyed and creeped out and spread them all over the floor and mixed them around, shuffled and re-dealt and it was the same again.

I just put them away after that one!

Oh, did some quick Googling on the XK120 and if a zero-mileage replica is acceptable, you might check out http://www.specialtyauto.com/xk120dhc.htm or http://www.eaglecoachwork.com/ --I was really trying to find a kit that I could offer to build-up myself, but it looks like "pre-built" is the only currently-available option, and even the replicas are around $40k US.

You'd be far better off spending your money on picking up a XK which has no rust and is restorable. The proportions on the cars you have presented look slightly off, wheel dimensions are wrong, and the whole car would lack the feel of a Jag. Part of the joy of driving a Jag of this era is the cohesiveness of the engine, chassis and gearbox. The feel, noise, and experience of driving a car such as this is quite unique and unfortunately most replicas can't replicate this unless you are buying a seriously expensive replica by someone like Tempero Cars, where they are using actual Jaguar parts. Replica cars which are good are the ones by companies which specialise in producing exacting copies (using actual parts) of the cars they are trying to mimic.

One of my very best friends restored both a XK140 and a Series I 3.8 E-Type, it's not the easiest of projects to undertake but is doable if you have some know-how and at the end you'll end up with something that is "real" and not a knock-off.

Sadly most of the replicas I have had the opportunity to drive or travel in do not offer the experience of the car they are supposed to replicate.
