I love almost all vintage beauties, but for me nothing else quite compares to the 1939 Aston Martin:

That's my kind of car.:D

Beautiful car Spitfire. I take it that's a TB? I've always loved MGs. My mother had a boyfriend in the early 1950s who had a MG TF and would fly up the driveway in it and then slide it round at the front of the house, spraying shingle all over the front lawn. He was referred to by my grandfather as "that bugger Bailey"!

Buicks

Well, my favorite car of the era is the 41 Buick. I love the looks, but it also had the most powerful production engine available in America in the 320 cubic inch straight eight.

Public Hero # 1

I just saw a film on AMC last night called "Public Hero # 1" (1935), with Chester Morris, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore. Fun gangster/comedy/romance flick. One of the co-stars was the hero's 1932 Buick. At one point one character says, "I wish I had a Buick!" The film ends with the bad guy getting wiped out by the G-men in a pretty much exact re-enactment of Dillinger's death, even as far as being set at the Bijou Theatre. A lot of great Buick footge.
