Fashion Park was a high end top quality suit company during the early half of the 20th century. I have a decent collection of their advertisements from the early 1920s to the early 1930s, some of them shown below.

I've seen only two Fashion Park suits in person: a '60s sharkskin that wasn't all that impressive and the one I purchased today, an early- to mid-1930s(?) 3-piece DB suit in dark blue flannel with wonderful teal chalkstripes.

It's well tailored and the jacket fits me like a dream except for the arms, which need to be let down. The vest is well fitted too. The trousers could be lengthened a bit.
Unfortunately there is some damage. The right jacket arm has several long tears along the crease, as you can see in the photos below.

Can anything fix this? Reweaving?

This has some of the highest quality workmanship I've seen in any suit, vintage or modern and the fabric is extremely soft.

Anyone else have or seen a Fashion Park suit?

Thunder, that is a beautiful suit. Since it fits so well, I would try to find an expert reweaver and see what could be done about the tear to the sleeve. No matter what it cost, it's going to be less expensive than getting another suit of that quality and lineage. I hope is all works out. Keep us posted, please. If the jacket can't be fixed, I suppose you wear the waistcoat and trousers with a light colored jacket.

thunder,

Fantastic finds in print and reality! Congratulations! I have one question and pardon me if this is off topic but, with all the wonderful suits and style you have - where do you go all dressed up!? I'm always looking for excuses to dress up nicely and have a hard time finding them.

I can recommend the reweaving work of Without a Trace in Chicago and Alice Zotta (212-840-7657) in NYC.

Tomasso,
Thanks for the advice. I might go with 'Without a Trace'.

I can't find anything about price on the website, what did you pay for their services?

btw, your inbox is full.

I don't really have any reason to dress up nice except for church on Sunday. Other than that I just dress up nice when I feel like it. If I'm out on the town, meeting friends, antiquing or whatever else I might dress up. If I'm being lazy at home I'll dress nice, just more casually.

You need no excuses to dress up!

I've used them five or six times and have never been charged over $150. But, I will say that I've never had any problematic weave/pattern issues which I know can easily push up the price. Consider calling them to ask if you can send photos of the damage in order to get a ball park estimate.
