While they are gorgeous (and expensive)...

I just couldn't feel okay about wearing a dead reptile on my foot :(

From the swatch page she has, I was under the impression she has vegan options. From swatch page: "We have vegan colors in black and red faux leather."

Enthusiastic endorsement of My Vintage Sole!

As I haven't a hope of ever fitting into any pair of vintage 1920s shoes, I followed up on Lady Day's recommendation of My Vintage Sole in this thread and ordered some shoes to go with a gold beaded dress back at the end of October. They arrived recently, and I wish I'd ordered a couple of pairs - these are fabulous. Joanie, the owner, is a delight to deal with - fast, pleasant and helpful in her emails, it was a completely trouble free order and delivery.

I'm hyperflexible and overpronate (I need to wear orthotics in my running shoes and had to wear them through most of my uni years to correct my feet) - these are incredibly comfortable, with a lovely soft inner sole and superb arch support. I tried them on for fit, and didn't want to take them off. They're exactly what I wanted - thank you for posting that link, Lady Day! I can enthusiastically recommend the shop:

OMG, Mojito, they are perfect! Except maybe the heel tip, could it have been the same color as the rest of the sole? But you can always change that if you want.

What is your impression of the quality?

I want some golden oxfords! And also silver, please. :D

As a shoemaker let me stick in my $.02 worth. The prices on my vintage sole are more than reasonable. The amount of work and investment in womens shoes is considerable and if she can make them fit then my hat is off to her. :eusa_clap I will send my inquries for vintage ladies shoe to her from now on.

I'm very happy with them, Laura - I've been largely restricted to inexpensive dance shoes made in China or the odd happily styles modern shoe that could pass for vintage style (fortunately Mary Janes and Oxfords, some with heel that could pass with a push, have been in the last season or two!). These, with the option for a street sole, are just what I wanted.

Tom, I think your customers will be pleased with the referral - they are indeed very comfortable, and I found it quite easy to order in my size using her charts, even working with Oz/US size conversion.

Thank God I'm a vegetarian! Even if I wanted these shoes I'd feel guilty about the little animal I was wearing on my feet!
