It was entertaining. Hardly one of Ford's or Plummer's best efforts, but I'll admit - I never mind seeing Leslie Anne Down naked, so there was that!

Not a film if historical accuracy of the props is your thing but worth watching just for Leslie Anne Down.
She came to us via Upstairs Downstairs I believe. In one of the last episodes set in the 1930s she made a porn film(for the time), and appears in some nice rather racy underwear, though again not quite historically accurate underwear I may say

It was a cooking show and I think they were speaking literally. They were making some kind of layer cake.

In the US however, we haven't much in the way of quince; and jammy dodgers are clearly some kind of English sponge cake Twinkie-like things that we don't have here either.

The whole phrase was just so, "Bollocks, I've left my bumbershoot in the boot!" that I just had to adopt it for my nefarious purposes.

Now Joan Collins in her day. There's a girl who REALLY puts some...well, you get the idea.

A Jammy Dodger is a sandwich biscuit , usually made with a bit of fondant cream and strawberry jam. But this is the crucial bit. The base is biscuit about 50mm round, next is the white fondant and on top of that strawberry jam. To finalise this work of art the top biscuit layer has a hole in the centre much like a half hunter pocket watch, traditionally round though more popular heart shaped. Children like them especially, though maybe adults like them just that bit more as they are just as tasty as said Lesley Anne Down or Joan Collins.

Last night I watched the film "Capricorn One" about a faked manned mission to Mars. Near the end is a spectacular aerial chase between a biplane and two helicopters. The movie is excellent, but kind of obscure, so for those who just want the chase here it is. Someone can presumably i.d. the aircraft involved. Yes, that's Telly Savalas in an A-2 pretending to be a crop duster pilot!
