I tried but could not find a thread about designers but there may be one.
--------------------
Found a piece of jewlry designed by Adolph A. Weinman. Seems he designed the Mercury dime and the Walking Liberty half dollar as well as many medals for armed services. Very interesting to me.

Do you know of a special designer or just found about another one? I am still searching for hat designer Adele. Still cannot find anything and it drives me silly.

I started a thread a while back (it didn't go anywhere) but I love the idea! I like to keep my eyes out for quality pieces and collectibles. I know nothing about jewelry but would love to learn more.

Personally, as for clothing designers, I am a fan of the 50s work of some of these. I suppose I consider these attainable someday on my budget as opposed to a 50's Chanel. Fred Perlberg - (http://www.simplyperlberg.com/)

Emma Domb-
Emma Domb was a California dressmaking company that was active from 1939 through the 1970s. Domb Manufacturing Company was owned by Emma Domb and Lorraine Domb Steinberg. They specialized in wedding, party and prom dresses, and were also known for fancy date ensembles. They were headquartered in San Francisco.

Suzy Perette/Gigi Young -
Not an actual person but the name of a dress manufacturing company that made affordable versions of Parisian designs in the 1950s. The Suzy Perette silhouette of cinched waist and full skirt were extremely popular and a quality interpretation of Dior's famous “New Look."
The Suzy Perette Company was located in New York City at 134 W. 37th Street from 1949 to the early 1970s. The Suzy Perette name was a registered trademark of Lombardy Dress (founded as Lombardy Frocks in 1930) and was first used in commerce in 1946. The Suzy Perette name was registered by Lombardy Frocks in 1954. A sister label to Suzy Perette is the Gigi Young Fashions label (late fifties to 1966). This label followed the same successful style formula of Suzy Perette designs, but were sold as a less expensive line.

A popular designer for the Suzy Perette Company was Victor Costa who worked for the company from 1965 to 1973.

Lilli Ann -Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco in 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats.
After WWII, Schuman went to France and it was during this time that the labels had “Paris” added to them. While in France, Schuman was buying fabrics, and many of the labels in Lilli Ann designs also contain the name of the French factory that made the fabric.

Many of these fabrics were bought from small textile companies, that were in such financial straits after the war that they were in danger of closing. Schuman bought from these small companies, and was thus credited with saving many of them from financial ruin. For his efforts Schuman was awarded medals from both France and Italy, and the Lilli Ann customer got a suit made of high quality, hand-loomed fabric.

In the 1960s, there was a popular Lilli Ann Knits line, and a mod-inspired London line. The 1970s brought a career look for Lilli Ann. Adolph Schuman died in 1985, but the company continued under the direction of his heirs. The company was sold in the 1990s, and was closed by 2000.

Fascinating - Do you have an example/photo of the dress still as a reference?
When I have a bit more time - I'd like to post the designer and some examples of the their work as a reference.

Simple but so elegant. I shut down my GoAntiques store and cannot find the label image. I will see if I can dig it up somewhere. Lightened to show. Deep black thick velvet.
