It has been years probably since I posted, so some updates..here is my Sweet Caroline (19) who is a swing dance instructor and loves vintage attire.


And dear Miss Emily (22) my almost nurse.

She probably figures if she drives a Caddy, I'll pop the question lol

Just let her know, if she comes across a road the Caddy won't cross, go back and get your truck.
It's best not to ruin the Caddy.

I thought I saw Caroline out at a dance... now I'm pretty sure it was her. She's stunning!

Thank you Babydoll, very much...she is a doll.
In this photo Caroline and Andrew won 2nd place at the last big event at Century Ballroom in Seattle, I can't recall the name. She went to LindyBout in Vancouver Cananda month(?) ago and she won 1st in the Jack & Jill Intermediate group. She is off to New York for Frankie 100 and Camp Hollywood in August.

Your little one looks like a perfect cherub.

She will have such fun dancing in New York and L.A. I've been there (and Vancouver), and all of the dancers were welcoming. I've been trying to go out dancing once a month on the Eastside. Nice small dance that's helping me get my foot back in the dancing door. Who knew I'd still have some moves in my body after a 10 year break? Go, mama!

As for mine... ha! Cherubic in looks, but she is a little spitfire! But I'll keep her because she's mine (and the gypsies won't have her).

Excellent you are still swinging. The gypsies totally cracked me up, I used to tell Emily and Caroline all the time I would sell them to the gypsies!

One particularly rough evening, my husband picked up the phone and pretended to dial the gypsies. She was not amused - ran shrieking to her room "don't sell me!". Behavior improved - marginally.

My mother used to do something like that. My sister was terrified of clowns, and when she started cutting up rough, Ma would grab the telephone receiver and start dialing. "I'm sending for clowns!" she'd yell. "They live in Belfast and can be here in five minutes!" My sister would scream in terror and hide in our room for the rest of the day.

Any lingering trauma to your sister? Should I start a therapy fund for Lily?

She is 14 months... just turned 15 months! It is a great age.

My mother used to do something like that. My sister was terrified of clowns, and when she started cutting up rough, Ma would grab the telephone receiver and start dialing. "I'm sending for clowns!" she'd yell. "They live in Belfast and can be here in five minutes!" My sister would scream in terror and hide in our room for the rest of the day.

My parents used to threaten to drop me off on the local reservation. I have no idea why, and I don't remember it working, except being embarrassed when I got a little older and realized it was probably racist. When I was in middle school, the local nation started a casino. Needless to say, it would have been a significant upgrade to live or work there than on my parent's farm. When I got particularly mouthy as a teen, I'd threaten to move out and go work at the casino. Kind of backfired on my parents, that one. You got to threaten to dump your kid off at someplace that is worse than what they've got... not someplace that pays and feeds you better.

My sister did have some issues -- a longstanding eating disorder the most prominent -- but I don't think the clowns had anything to do with that.

With my little brother the irrational childhood fear was snowmen. When I was really mad at him I'd go and build the biggest, fiercest, ugliest snowman I could, looking right in his bedroom window. One time it was so terrifying my mother rousted me out of bed at 2 am and made me go outside in my pajamas and knock it down.
