This thread is not about religious "faith" but faith in one's ability.

Faith is the head chemist of the mind. When faith is blended with thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence.

Faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion.

Repetition of affirmation of orders to your subconscious mind is a method of voluntary development of the emotion of faith.

How, what, where and why do we develop faith in our abilities and how does this affect our daily lives?

Behind the 8 ball,..
See my quote,...

...below.

As to the how, what, where, and why part of it,...why ask why?

I learned how to make art because I always appreciated it and thought from an early age that it would be a great thing to know how to do. Fun also. :)
The how, what, where part is answered in my quote.

Is anyone doomed to "bad luck?"

Perhaps the meaning of "faith" may be made clearer through the explanation of why some men sometimes become criminals. Stated in the words of a famous criminologist; "when men first come into contact with crime, they abhor it. If they remain in contact with crime for a time, they become accustomed to it, and endure it. If they remain in contact with it long enough, they finally embrace it, and become influenced by it."

This is the equivalent of saying that any impluse of thought which is repeatedly passed on to the subconscious mind is, finally, accepted and acted upon by the subconscious mind, which proceeds to translate that impulse into its physical equivalent, by the most practical procedure available.

Which brings us to a very good question; "Is anyone 'doomed' to Bad Luck?" [huh]

I'd say that he is in the thrall of Napolean Hill's "Think and Grow Rich."

It sure isn't nonsense!

Why does someone always have to inject negative karma into an otherwise intelligent conversation?

My profanest apologies. Perhaps when you and Lincsong have "thought" and "grown rich" you can give me my just deserts by hiring me to perfom some menial task like replacing the urinal cakes in the lounge bathroom.

Personally, I am quite angered by bunkum artists like Dale Carnegie and Napolean Hill and all the similar authors who get rich by mocking the gullible with some supposedly simple solution to all the world's ills.

But now it is obvious: Instead of being angered by the vast economic disparities in this country, and by those who prey upon the poor and the uneducated, I should be harnessing the power of my imagination to think of piles of money and to build faith that I too will soon amass a vast fortune.

Hurray!!!
