Factors/Considerations

I buy very little modern clothing. When I do, I have two major considerations:

1) Is the garment made of natural fibres? I will not wear synthetics.

2) Is it likely that child or slave labour was involved in the manufacture of the garment? This cuts out the vast, VAST majority of major brands, most of whom are complicit in the ongoing enslavement of "the developing world".

Durability is top.
Lining choice is fairly important.
Fit varies- I don't want to swim inside the thing, but fqhh or steerhide is not suit fabric, and so I have a kind of leniency regarding this factor.
Customization is a blessing and a curse- I'm more likely to want to eliminate features (inner pockets that MAY deform the jacket with all the crap I'd shove in them) than add stuff which risks later regret if the style is not supposed to support my 'good idea at the time' additions. I try to trust the manufacturer.
