Fabric for summer weight suit?

Has anyone gone with a cotton suit before? I'm seeing them a lot as summer nears. How is the upkeep? Do the need to be dry cleaned more often than wool?

I'm mulling over getting one, but am just a bit unsure. I'd like a summer suit, but my experiences with linen clothing leave me wanting to avoid it. The stuff wrinkles like no other. So cotton seems my best bet. I was contemplating this "La Habana" suit from Indochino (I love their wares!), minus the third pocket.

I used to wear cotton poplin suits (mostly Haspel) in green, tan, and blue. They were cheap and more or less disposable, and quite comfortable in hot weather. Also had some cotton twill (possilby gabardine) suits which were way too heavy.

Linen is supposed to wrinkle, it's one of the charms!

I have a modern linen/cotton blend suit which is great, and a vintage 100% wool suit. The wool suit feels as thin and lightweight as modern super-xxx suits, but without the horrible appearance of the fabric (imo). If the wool was any thicker it'd be too hot though, so only get a wool suit if it's as thin as possible.

That Havana suit is beautiful.

I've been dreaming about a summer suit, a cream coloured fabric with black pinstripes in a 3 piece using dormeuil fabric, seeing as I can't find it anywhere else, but it is in some sort of tropical collection.

Sounds like this suit of mine, Lonny

On summer suits, wondered if anyone has seen anything like Belloq's attire from Raiders?
Can't find a full length shot anywhere but if anyones planning on watching the dvd soon (like you haven't already seen it a zillion times!) take a look. Looks like it has bellows pockets and a half-belt panel at the back.

WOW! Great looking suit and a great looking gentleman . Please tell us all from whom/where you obtained it?

Sorry for my delay in reponding, I was out of town. Thank you for the kind compliment.

I won it on ebay a year ago for under $30. One label on the inside says, "super 140s merino wool," and the other says, "Calvin America."

The Calvin America brand is readily available on the web.
