I've posted my Magnoli Herbert Johnson on eBay. I think I'm just so used to stiffer felts that I can't get it the way I want it. [huh]

All my playing with it has given it a "lived in" look, but I've only worn it a few times. Feel free to PM me with questions.

Oh, and if anybody here gets it, I will be happy to ship it to one of our friendly neighborhood hat-guys for a reblock or whatever, should you want that.

This hat's way too big for me. But I'm wondering - of what kind of felt is this made? and is it a featherweight?

It's rabbit fur felt. It is not feather weight, though it feels a little lighter and has almost no stiffener to it. It looks fairly average in thickness to me.
